The 10^th Guangzhou International Investment Annual Conference China was held at the China Import and Export Fair Complex from April 8^th to 9^th, focusing on the development of new productive forces and conducting in-depth dialogues around trends in industries such as digital economy, green energy, artificial intelligence, intelligent manufacturing, and biomedicine.

According to Hu Run, chairman and chief researcher of the Hurun Global Rich List, over the past year, there has been a new unicorn born globally every two days, bringing the total number of known unicorns worldwide to nearly 1,500, setting a new record. Despite facing economic pressures, China has seen the birth of more than one new unicorn every week over the past year. Guangzhou currently boasts 24 unicorns, which is equivalent to the number of unicorns in a country like Israel or Canada. The Greater Bay Area has a total of 70 unicorns, comparable to the number of unicorns in a country like India.

The head of the Guangzhou Municipal Commerce Bureau stated that last year, Guangzhou adhered to its urban positioning as a key hub for science, technology, education, and culture, as well as an important base for international innovation and entrepreneurship. It continuously strengthened innovation leadership and accelerated the cultivation of new productive forces. Currently, Guangzhou is home to 24 unicorn enterprises globally, with industrial investment and technological renovation investment both growing at a rate exceeding 20%. The city attracts a concentration of university students, skilled talents, and innovative resources such as national-level major platforms. According to the "2024 Special Economic Report on the South China Region" by the American Chamber of Commerce in South China, Guangzhou has been listed as the most popular investment city for the seventh consecutive year.

At the investment annual conference, the Hurun Research Institute released the "Global Unicorn Index 2024," listing non-public companies worldwide founded after 2000 and valued at over $1 billion. This marks the sixth release of the global unicorn index by the Hurun Research Institute. The report also includes the "2024 Top 100 Global Unicorn Investment Institutions."

According to the report, the United States and China saw the emergence of 70 and 56 new unicorns respectively in the past year, averaging one new unicorn per week. Other regions around the world contributed 45 new unicorns. Altogether, there are 171 new unicorns globally, bringing the total to 1453.

胡润：全球独角兽企业达1453家，AI跻身三大赛道

4月8日至9日，第十届中国广州国际投资年会在广州广交会堂举办，聚焦发展新质生产力，围绕数字经济、绿色能源、人工智能、智能制造、生物医药等产业发展趋势，开展深度对话。

“过去一年，全球每两天就有一家新独角兽诞生，使全球已知独角兽总数达到了接近1500家的新纪录。虽然经济增长面临压力，但中国过去一年每周都仍有一家以上新独角兽诞生。”胡润百富董事长兼首席调研官胡润在接受羊城晚报记者采访时表示，广州目前有24家独角兽企业，相当于以色列或加拿大一个国家的独角兽企业数量。粤港澳大湾区共有70家独角兽企业，相当于印度一个国家的独角兽企业数量。

广州市商务局负责人表示，去年，广州市紧扣科技教育文化中心、国际科创中心重要承载地的城市定位，不断强化创新引领，加快培育新质生产力。目前，广州拥有全球独角兽企业24家，工业投资、技改投资增速均超20%，高校学生、技能人才汇聚，国家级重大平台等创新资源云集。在华南美国商会《2024年华南地区经济情况特别报告》中，广州连续七年被列为最受欢迎投资城市。

投资年会上，胡润研究院发布了《2024全球独角兽榜》（Global Unicorn Index 2024），列出了全球成立于2000年之后，价值10亿美元以上的非上市公司。这是胡润研究院第六次发布全球独角兽榜。这份报告也包括《2024全球独角兽投资机构百强》。

报告显示，过去一年美国和中国分别出现70家和56家新独角兽企业，平均每周增加一家。世界其他地区有45家。全球共有171家新独角兽企业，总数达到1453家。
