On November 21st, the "2023 Research Report on the Top 500 Guangdong Manufacturing Enterprises " (the Report) was unveiled at the 2023 Top 500 Guangdong Manufacturing Enterprises Summit.

According to the event, the top 500 manufacturing enterprises in Guangdong Province for the year 2023 were ranked based on their 2022 annual revenue. The total combined revenue of the selected enterprises reached 5.6 trillion yuan, an increase of 1.2% compared to the 2022 level. The average annual revenue per enterprise increased by 1.4% to 11.2 billion yuan.

In terms of revenue, there were 12 companies with revenue exceeding 100 billion yuan, 4 with revenue between 50 billion and 100 billion yuan, 42 with revenue between 10 billion and 50 billion yuan, 43 with revenue between 5 billion and 10 billion yuan, 212 with revenue between 1 billion and 5 billion yuan, and 187 with revenue below 1 billion yuan. Compared to the 2022 level, the number of companies with revenue in the medium to high range has increased.

In terms of regional distribution, a total of 18 cities in the province had companies selected for the 2023 top 500 manufacturing enterprises in Guangdong Province. Shenzhen (133 companies), Foshan (70 companies), Guangzhou (68 companies), and Dongguan (55 companies) were the top four cities with the highest number of selected companies. Among them, Shenzhen saw an increase of 62 companies compared to the previous year.

What are the characteristics of the selected companies? According to Tao Feng, the dean of the Institute of Industrial Economics at Jinan University, the selected companies are distributed across 24 industries, accounting for 77.4% of the 31 manufacturing industries nationwide. The total number of manufacturing companies in the industries of electrical machinery and equipment, computer, communication, and other electronic equipment, general equipment, and instrumentation reached 231, accounting for 46.2% of the selected companies.

When it comes to revenue, the average annual revenue of manufacturing companies in the industries of automobile, computer, communication, and other electronic equipment, agro-food processing, electrical machinery and equipment exceeded 10 billion yuan, reaching 30.298 billion yuan, 24.905 billion yuan, 15.661 billion yuan, and 12.499 billion yuan, respectively.

Tao Feng pointed out that covering a wide range of sectors, the manufacturing industry in Guangdong is quite diverse and well-established. The industry comprises competitive medium-sized enterprises in most sectors, which indicates a high level of manufacturing development in the region. However, there remain some challenges, including weaknesses in technological innovation capabilities and international competitiveness of brands, as well as insufficiency in value-added content and implementation of smart manufacturing.

In response, Tao suggested a focus on improvement in areas such as technological innovation, digital development, enterprise cultivation, low-carbon transformation, brand building, business environment, and talent support, so as to strengthen the industrial "backbones" of Guangdong's modernization.

粤企制造业500强名单出炉，深圳上榜企业占比近三成

11月21日，广东省制造业500强企业峰会现场发布了《2023年广东制造业500强企业研究报告》（以下简称《报告》）。

记者从现场获悉，2023年广东省制造业500强企业按2022年度营业收入排序，入选企业营业收入合计达到5.6万亿元，比2022年增加1.2%，企业平均营业收入112亿元，比2022年提高1.4%。

从营业收入来看，超过1000亿元的企业有12家，500亿元至1000亿元之间的企业有4家，100亿元至500亿元的企业有42家，50亿元至100亿元的企业有43家，10亿元至50亿元的企业有212家，10亿元以下企业187家，与上一年度相比，营业收入位于中高区间的企业数量有一定增加。

从地域分布来看，全省共有18个地市有企业入选2023年广东省制造业500强，深圳（133家）、佛山（70家）、广州（68家）、东莞（55家）入选企业数量位居前五，深圳入选企业数量较上一年度新增62家。

入选企业有哪些行业特征？暨南大学产业经济研究院院长陶锋分析称，入选企业分布在24个行业，占全国31个制造业行业的77.4%，“电气机械和器材制造业”“计算机、通信和其他电子设备制造业”“通用设备制造业”“仪器仪表制造业”四个行业的企业数量合计达到231家，占入选企业数量46.2%。

其中，“汽车制造业”“计算机、通信和其他电子设备制造业”“农副食品加工业”“电气机械和器材制造业”四个行业的企业平均营业收入超过100亿元，分别为302.98亿元、249.05亿元、156.61亿元、124.99亿元。

“广东制造业不仅行业门类齐全、形成了比较完整的制造业体系，而且在大部分行业都有规模较大、竞争力较强的大中型企业，制造业整体发展水平较高。”陶锋同时指出，广东制造业仍有一些问题急需克服，如企业科创实力总体偏弱、含金量不够高，“数智制造”程度不够，品牌国际竞争力较弱等。

对此，陶锋提议从科技创新能力、数字化发展、企业培育、低碳转型、品牌建设、营商环境、人才支撑等方面着手，挺起广东现代化建设的产业“脊梁”。
