On September 23rd, the organizing committee for the 2024 Guangzhou Marathon announced that the number of registered participants has surpassed 110,000, reaching 112,987, despite the cancellation of the half marathon category. Runners from 34 countries and regions are set to compete, with male and female participants making up 79.27% and 20.73% of the total, respectively. Notably, over half of the registrants are under 44 years old, making them the primary participants. The committee also revealed the zodiac signs and constellations of the registrants, with Aquarians and those born in the Years of the Rabbit being the most represented.

The marathon route will continue to feature the scenic "One River, Two Banks", starting at Tianhe Sports Center and finishing at Haixinsha Island, with the finish line arch located at Haixinsha Asian Games Park's Starlight Avenue.

Among domestic registrants, the top five provinces are Guangdong (45.73%), Beijing (5.48%), Hunan (4.08%), Hubei (3.63%), and Zhejiang (3.56%), while other provinces collectively account for 37.52%.

Within Guangdong, Guangzhou remains the largest contributor with 21,381 registrants, followed by Shenzhen (11,921), Dongguan (4,878), Foshan (3,594), Zhongshan (1,397), and other cities totaling 8,384.

Interestingly, the committee highlighted the top three zodiac signs among registrants: Aquarius at 12.41%, Libra at 10.81%, and Scorpio at 10.31%. For Chinese zodiac signs, participants born in the Years of the Rabbit have the highest representation at 8.90%, followed closely by the Dog and Tiger at 8.86% and 8.65%, respectively.

2024广州马拉松组委会9月23日公布了本届比赛选手报名情况，在取消了半程马拉松项目的情况下，本届报名人数依然突破十万，达到112987人，共有34个国家和地区的选手参与报名。其中，男、女选手占比分别为79.27%和20.73%。44岁以下选手超半数，是报名主力军。组委会还公布了报名选手星座占比和生肖占比，水瓶座选手和属兔的选手占比最多。

比赛路线继续沿“一江两岸”设置，马拉松起点设在天河体育中心，终点调整至海心沙，终点拱门设置于海心沙亚运公园星光大道。

本届比赛报名选手中国内选手省市占比TOP5的省市分别为广东省（45.73%）、北京市（5.48%）、湖南省（ 4.08%）、湖北省（3.63%）、浙江省（ 3.56%），其他省市总共为 37.52% 。

再细化到广东省，广州市依旧为报名大户，共21381人报名，来自深圳市的为11921人，东莞市4878人，佛山市3594人，中山市1397人，其他市人数总和为8384人。

有趣的是，组委会还公布了报名选手星座占比TOP3和生肖占比TOP3，水瓶座占比12.41%，天秤座占比10.81%，天蝎座占比10.31%；属兔的选手最多，占比8.90%，其次是属狗和虎的属相，分别为8.86%和8.65%。
