After over 20 years of anticipation, the Dongjiao Dragon Boat event in Liwan, which is set to reopen on June 15^th, 2024, has garnered much excitement among local residents. In preparation for this dragon boat parade, 30 dragon boats have been elaborately adorned and will make their appearance in prime condition.

The traditional and intact culture of Cantonese dragon boats is well preserved in Liwan. Here, various stories about dragon boats are widely circulated, and dragon boats with over a century of history can be found in every village and community.

On the day of the event, in addition to the spectacular display of 30 dragon boats, it also gathered many eminent figures in the realm of dragon boating. This includes the inheritors of Liwan's "Dragon Boat Racing" intangible cultural heritage project, as well as the heads of dragon boat associations from various villages and communities. Li Nianzhong, Deputy Secretary-General of the Guangdong Dragon Boat Association, will serve as the guest host of the Dragon Boat Festival event, providing on-site explanations of the cultural significance behind dragon boats.

The spectacular Huadi Dragon Boat event is organized by various economic cooperatives in Liwan. Each cooperative's dragon boat will make a collective appearance. Multiple "traditional old dragon boats" will be decorated and presented in innovative ways. Through parade formations and individual boat displays, they will showcase different themes such as "Lingnan intangible cultural heritage", "millennial floral homeland", "rural elegance", and "urban vitality".

时隔20多年，广州荔湾“东漖景”将在花地河开锣

6月12日，羊城晚报全媒体记者从广州市荔湾区获悉，“龙腾花地，荔湾有景”——2024年端午游龙活动将于6月15日开锣，时隔20多年，街坊期盼已久的“东漖景”将精彩回归。

花地游龙有什么精彩看点？记者带你逐个数。

荔湾街坊期盼了20多年的东漖龙船景将在2024年6月15日复办。为了迎接这次龙船巡游，30条龙船早已精心“打扮”，将以最佳状态亮相。

招景、应景、趁景……荔湾保留着传统、完整的广府龙船文化。在荔湾，关于龙船的各种故事流传甚广，各村社超百年历史的龙船也比比皆是。

活动当天，除了有30条龙船争奇斗艳外，也聚集了多位龙船泰斗，其中包括荔湾区“扒龙舟”项目非遗传承人，各村社龙船会的负责人等。广东省龙舟协会副秘书长黎念忠将担任游龙盛典的嘉宾主持，现场讲解龙舟的文化典故。

花地游龙盛景以荔湾各经济联社为单位，联社的龙船将集体亮相。多条“传统老龙”会以创新的方式装饰亮相，通过方阵巡游以及单船展示的形式，演绎“岭南非遗”“千年花乡”“乡村风采”“城市活力”等不同主题。
