On January 27th, coinciding with the 60th anniversary of China-France diplomatic relations, an exchange event was held in Guangzhou on January 26th. French Consul General in Guangzhou, Mr. Sylvain Fourriere, former President of Guangdong University of Foreign Studies, Huang Jianhua, Olympic champion of table tennis Liu Shiwen, and other Chinese and French guests gathered together to share stories of the profound friendship between the two countries.

Looking forward to closer China-France exchanges

In his speech, Mr. Sylvain Fourriere, the French Consul General in Guangzhou, reviewed the glorious 60-year history of China-France diplomatic relations and the flourishing exchanges between France and China, particularly with Guangdong, in the fields of economy, culture, education, and sports. He highlighted the significant and intricate bond that exists between China and France, and conveyed his anticipation for the continued advancement and deepening interactions in diverse domains.

Officials from the Foreign Affairs Office of the People's Government of Guangzhou Municipal specially introduced the remarkable journey of the 36-year friendly exchanges between Guangzhou and Lyon, highlighting the vision for even closer ties and deepening friendship between the two sister cities in the future.

Huang Jianhua, the former president of Guangdong University of Foreign Studies, who is now in his nineties, attended the event in person. Despite his retirement, Huang Jianhua continues to dedicate himself to the arduous task of compiling a French-Chinese dictionary. Struggling against disease, he completed the monumental "Grand Dictionnaire Chinois-Français Contemporain" with over 7 million words in 2014, filling the vacuum of a large-scale Chinese-French dictionary in China.

During the event, he interacted with the guests in bilingual Chinese and French, expressing his appreciation and love for French culture.

Representatives from various fields share stories of China-France exchanges

In 2024, Paris, France will host the Olympic Games. Liu Shiwen, a local athlete from Guangdong, a member of the International Tennis Federation (ITF), and an Olympic champion, attended the event to promote friendly sports exchanges between China and France.

How can table tennis promote exchanges between China and France in the future? Liu Shiwen pointed out that the Paris Olympic Games provide an excellent opportunity for both sides, as athletes from both countries will deepen their exchanges and understanding through the competitive process. Liu Shiwen further expressed her anticipation for Chinese and French athletes to showcase their brilliance in the competition, while also extending early congratulations to the athletes for their achievements at the Olympic Games.

China Southern Airlines began operating flights between Guangzhou and Paris in 2004 and will celebrate its 20th anniversary this year. Liang Liang, the chief flight attendant of China Southern Airlines, recalled interesting anecdotes of mutual adaptation and cultural exchanges between Chinese and French flight attendants in terms of food, language, and culture on this route. He also vividly depicted the vibrant scenes of close interactions between people from both countries through this air route.

In addition, Lin Hai, the Deputy General Manager of Guangzhou City Construction Investment Group Co., Ltd., introduced a case study from the Guangzhou Yuexiu International Congress Center, which was just completed in 2020. He highlighted the collaboration between the center and GL Event from France in overcoming various challenges to ensure the successful hosting of the World UHD Video Industrial Conference. This demonstrated the deep bond forged between the teams of the two countries and their unwavering confidence in continuing to work together in the future.

1月27日，恰逢中法建交60周年。1月26日，中法交流故事会在广州召开。法国驻广州总领事福希玮、广东外语外贸大学原校长黄建华、奥运冠军刘诗雯等中法嘉宾齐聚一堂，共同分享中法友好交流交往故事，共叙两国间深厚情谊。

期待中法交流更加紧密　　

法国驻广州总领事福希玮在致辞中回顾了中法建交60年的光辉历程，重温了多年来法国与中国，尤其是与广东在经济、文化、教育、体育等领域密切交流的盛况。福希玮强调，中法关系历史悠久、内涵丰富，期待双方关系持续繁荣，各领域交流日益紧密。

广州市委外办相关负责人在现场特别介绍了广州与里昂结为友好城市、开展友好交流36年来的精彩历程，并对未来友城关系日益紧密、友好情谊不断加深的愿景表达了热切期待。

年近九旬的广东外语外贸大学原校长黄建华亲临活动现场。黄建华在退休之后，仍致力于艰巨的法语词典编纂工作。在与病魔抗争的情况下，他于2014年完成了700多万字的《汉法大词典》，填补了我国尚无大型汉法词典的空白。

活动现场，他运用中法双语与嘉宾交流互动，表达了对法国文化的欣赏和喜爱。

各领域代表分享中法交流故事

2024年，法国巴黎将迎来奥林匹克盛事。现场，来自广东本土的运动员、国际乒联运动员委员会主席、奥运冠军刘诗雯亲临，共促中法体育友好交流。

未来，如何以乒乓球促进中法两国交流？刘诗雯指出，巴黎奥运会就是一次非常好的契机，双方运动员将在竞技过程中加深交流、增进了解。刘诗雯进一步表示，期待中法两国运动员在比赛中打出精彩，同时提前祝愿运动健儿们在奥运会上取得辉煌成绩。

南航于2004年开通了广州-巴黎往返航班，今年将迎来20周年纪念。南航客舱部乘务长梁量在现场回顾了在这条航线上，中法两国乘务员在饮食、语言文化方面相互适应和交流交融的趣事，以及中法两国人员通过这条航线密切往来的生动场景。

此外，广州市城投资产经营管理有限公司副总经理林海特别介绍了2020年广州越秀国际会议中心刚刚建成之际，与法国智奥集团携手应对重重挑战，保障世界超高视频产业发展大会顺利举行的事例，展示了两国团队由此结下的深厚战斗情谊，以及对未来继续并肩共进的坚定信心。
