As one of the most popular classic musicals in the world, after an eight-year absence, the original Broadway musical "The Sound of Music" returns to Chinese mainland with a nationwide tour starting from Shanghai. It will be performed in the Guangzhou Opera House from January 17th to 22nd.

The musical "The Sound of Music", born in 1959, celebrated its 65th birthday in 2024. As one of the evergreen trees in the global musical theater, "The Sound of Music" had already been performed over 4,000 times on Broadway in New York and in the West End in London within six years of its debut, setting a Guinness World Record for the highest number of audience in a week.

The story of "The Sound of Music" takes place in Salzburg, Austria, in 1938. The young and lively nun, Maria, becomes the governess for the family of an Austrian Navy Captain. After the death of his wife, the Captain treat his family like a military force. His seven children become rebellious, but Maria's arrival changes everything. She teaches the children games, songs, and wins their affection through playful instruction.

"The Sound of Music", which has won six international awards, has opened the door to music for countless people. In China, many songs from "The Sound of Music" have been included in domestic music lists and even English textbooks, becoming the first English song that many children learn. It can be said that "The Sound of Music" is not only a successful musical, but also carries important significance in terms of artistic and musical enlightenment.

Over the past 65 years, "The Sound of Music" has had various versions. Different from the previous two versions that performed in China, this time the original Broadway version is directed by Jack O'Brien. The plot of this version is more compact, and the set design has also been further improved. After its premiere on Broadway in 2015, this version officially started its North American and Asian tour, and this is also the first appearance of this version in the Chinese mainland.

Meanwhile, the band's performance and the young actors' outstanding interpretation also add charm to the live performance of "The Sound of Music". The live band consists of 11 musicians and a conductor, creating an immersive atmosphere that makes the audience feel as if they are wandering in the snow-capped mountains of Austria. It is reported that all child actors not only need to perform eight high-intensity shows a week, the same as adult actors, but also need to attend classes during the day to catch up on their study progress.

作为全球最受欢迎的经典音乐剧之一，睽违八年，百老汇原版音乐剧《音乐之声》再度回归中国大陆，从上海启程，开启全国巡演，并将于1月17日-22日登陆广州大剧院。

诞生于1959年的音乐剧《音乐之声》，在2024年迎来了它的65岁生日。作为全球音乐剧的常青树之一，《音乐之声》问世六年便在纽约百老汇、伦敦西区上演超4000场，更是创下过一周内观剧人数最多的吉尼斯纪录。

《音乐之声》的故事发生于1938年的奥地利萨尔茨堡。年轻活泼的修女玛丽亚成为奥地利海军上校家的家庭女教师，上校自妻子去世后，像管理军队一样经营自己的家庭，7个孩子个性叛逆，而玛丽亚的到来改变了这一家：她教孩子们游戏、唱歌，用充满游戏性的教导赢得了孩子们的喜爱……

获得国际六项大奖的《音乐之声》曾为无数人打开了音乐的大门。在中国，《音乐之声》中的多首曲目都被收录进国内音乐，甚至英语教科书，成为许多孩子学会的第一首英文歌。可以说，《音乐之声》不仅是一部成功的音乐剧，它更承载着艺术启蒙、音乐启蒙的重要意义。

65年来，《音乐之声》有过各种版本，不同于前两次来华的版本，这次来到广州的百老汇英文原版《音乐之声》，由导演杰克·奥布莱恩执导。其剧情的编排更加紧凑、布景环境也进一步提升。此版本在2015年纽约百老汇首演后，正式开启北美及亚洲巡演，这也是该版本在中国大陆的首度亮相。

与此同时，现场乐队的演奏和儿童演员们精彩绝伦的演绎，也为《音乐之声》的现场表演增添魅力。现场乐队由11位乐手及指挥组成，制造出强大的声场，使观众仿佛身临其境地置身于奥地利的雪山与自然之中。据悉，所有儿童演员除了需要和成人演员一样需要进行一周八场的高强度演出外，也需要抽空在白天上课来确保学业的顺利进行。
