On December 10th, Guangdong Winsing Animation Co., Ltd. ("Winsing Animation") saw its iconic IP, "GG Bond", recognized with the"Salute to Forty Years of Television Animation - Television Animation Character Award" for its portrayal of a spirited, just, and brave young hero.
As one of the birthplaces of Chinese animation, Guangzhou, Guangdong has nurtured a group of influential digital creative leaders and premium IPs, including hit animations like "GG Bond" and "Weslie". "GG Bond" stands out as the country’s first original 3D long-form TV animation.
Everyone has a "GG Bond" in their childhood memories. With a distinctive symbol of Chinese red and a tiger-headed hat, this grassroots hero’s character has deeply resonated with people. Since its debut in 2005, the animation has released 18 series, 6 spin-offs, and 8 feature films, accumulating over 20,000 minutes of animated content. Its optimistic, brave, and resilient positive spirit has influenced generations of children.
In 2021, Winsing Animation introduced a new series with the theme of "Chinese Kung Fu." For example, in "GG Bond: Superstar of the Five Spirits," traditional Chinese Kung Fu elements such as Diamond Leg, Tai Chi, and Golden Bell are incorporated, blending the chivalrous spirit advocated by Chinese Kung Fu with GG Bond’s "heroic" spirit. This creates a brand-new IP image, showcasing the essence of Chinese traditional culture and cultivating the spirit of self-improvement, chivalry, and justice in young audiences. As of now, the "GG Bond: Superhero of the Five Spirits" series has garnered over 2 billion views on top internet streaming platforms.
Recognizing diverse market demands worldwide, Winsing Animation aims to enhance its competitiveness with more targeted content. With the deepening cultural exchange and economic cooperation between China and the Middle East, Winsing Animation is also turning its attention to the Middle Eastern market.
At the recently concluded Dubai International Content Market (DICM), Winsing Animation showcased several new projects, including "GoGo Bus" and "Xv Wu Bian Jing" (Boundless Border). Particularly, the online animation "Xv Wu Bian Jing" gained widespread attention for its sci-fi and action theme, rich Chinese elements, and unique visual style.
