The IATA Cargo Day - North Asia Guangzhou International Air Cargo Hub High-quality Development Conference were held in Guangzhou from December 7th to 8th. The event highlighted the significant strides in the development of Guangzhou Baiyun Airport's cargo facilities.
In 2022, Baiyun Airport handled a cargo throughput of over 1.88 million tons, securing its position as the second busiest airport for cargo in the country for the third consecutive year since 2020. This accomplishment reflects the stability and efficiency of the supply chain in Guangdong and Guangzhou.
In November 2022, the success of the"Guangzhou Airport-based National Logistic Hub Construction Plan" led to its inclusion in the national logistics hub construction list for the year. As per the plan, the Guangzhou Air Hub National Logistics Hub will leverage Baiyun Airport and the Comprehensive Bonded Zone to build the Asia-Pacific Air Cargo Logistics Center. The aim is to collaborate with neighboring national logistics hubs and actively create an aviation logistics gateway network serving the Greater Bay Area, radiating globally.
Since the beginning of 2023, Baiyun Airport has introduced 14 new cargo routes, connecting Guangzhou to destinations such as Chennai, New York, Madrid, and Milan. Guangzhou now boasts over 60 cargo routes in operation, and Baiyun Airport accounts for nearly one-third of the air cargo volume in the Greater Bay Area. Its route network connects over 230 global destinations, contributing to Guangzhou's role as a global production and supply chain hub, realizing the vision of"local goods for global shipping and global goods gathering in Guangzhou", and continuing to lead in China's high-quality development.
Furthermore, the third-phase expansion at Baiyun Airport is progressing rapidly. Once completed, the airport will transform into a more powerful hub with five runways, two terminal areas, and two cargo terminal areas (both east and west). The cargo terminal area will expand from the current 500,000 square meters to over 1 million square meters, boosting the terminal's cargo throughput capacity to 6 million tons.

白云机场货站面积未来将超100万㎡
12月7日至8日,IATA北亚地区CARGO DAY暨广州国际航空货运枢纽高质量发展大会在广州举行。
据悉,2022年,白云机场货邮吞吐量达188.45万吨,自2020年以来货邮吞吐量连续三年位居国内机场第二名,反映出广东和广州的供应链不仅稳定畅通且优势突出。
据介绍,2022年11月,《广州空港型国家物流枢纽建设方案》成功纳入2022年国家物流枢纽建设名单。按照规划,广州空港型国家物流枢纽依托白云机场、综合保税区建设亚太航空物流中心,与周边国家物流枢纽协同联动,积极打造服务粤港澳大湾区、辐射全球的航空物流门户网络。
2023年以来,白云机场已新开广州往返金奈、纽约、马德里、米兰等14条货运航线。目前,广州已拥有超60条货运航线;白云机场航空货运总量占粤港澳大湾区近三分之一,航线网络覆盖全球230多个通航点,助力广州成为全球产供链中心,实现“本土货,运全球;全球货,聚广州”,继续在中国高质量发展进程中发挥领头羊和火车头作用。
此外,目前白云机场三期扩建工程正全速推进,三期扩建工程建成投产后,白云机场将成为一个功能更加强大的枢纽机场,最终实现5条跑道、2个航站区的规划格局,包括东西两个货运区,白云机场的货站面积将由目前超50万平方米扩展到超100万平方米规模,终端货邮吞吐能力将达到600万吨。
