The 2023 Guangzhou Marathon will officially start on December 10th.

As the competition approaches, the exciting atmosphere of the Guangzhou Marathon is getting stronger in Guangzhou, with marathon decorations already seen in many places.

Tianhe Sports Center is the starting point of this year's Guangzhou Marathon. On the afternoon of December 8th, the entire sports center was being prepared for the event. The main stage and some temporary stands have been installed in the south square of the sports center. The archway, which serves as the starting point, has also arrived at the south square and is waiting for the final decoration and installation. The large screen facing the south square is continuously playing promotional videos for the upcoming Guangzhou Marathon.

In the south of the Center, the intersection of Flower City Square and Haixinsha will be the finish line for the 2023 Guangzhou Marathon. The archway, serving as the finish line, has been installed, and the command center, guest rooms, and other workspaces have also been set up.

The city is preparing for the Guangzhou Marathon, and so are the participants. Among the runners wearing professional running shoes, Qiu Peng is quite unique for his flip-flops. Qiu Peng explained, "This is because some flip-flops are bouncy and comfortable over time with good quality." When running a marathon in flip-flops, he will run in fast but small paces to avoid injury.

Mass sports activities include not only marathons, but also winter swimming and mountaineering. Chen Boxi, Vice President of the Guangdong Winter Swimming Association, and Zeng Man, Vice Chairman of the Guangzhou Mountaineering Association, will both participate in the Guangzhou Marathon to "crossover" this year. Chen said that he would use the experience he accumulated from winter swimming, paddleboarding, and other sports in the marathons.

There will be more marathon competitions in Guangzhou. Chen Jiaji, who is preparing for the Guangzhou Marathon, also trains for the following Huangpu Marathon in December. "Running in the Guangzhou Marathon, everyone can see the beautiful urban scenery presented by the high-quality economic development of Guangzhou, while the Huangpu Marathon shows the vibrant scene of the world's top 500 companies in the most concentrated area of Guangzhou." Chen said that he doesn't want to miss both of these races held in his city.

It is reported that this year's Guangzhou Marathon will have over 200 medics on duty, ready to provide treatment, giving massages, stretches, and appropriate sprays to injured runners. They will also encourage runners left behind, providing spiritual support to the participants.

一座城，一群人，为广马蓄势待发

12月10日，2023广州马拉松赛将正式开跑。

距离开赛日越近，广州街头的“广马氛围”越浓，广州多处已见广马装饰物。

天河体育中心是本届广马的起跑点。12月8日下午，整个体育中心正为广马布场。在体育中心南广场，为广马准备的主席台和部分临时看台已安装好；作为起跑点的拱门也运抵南广场，正等待最后的装饰和安装。体育中心面向南广场的大屏幕，则不断播放着广马宣传片，提示2023广州马拉松赛“蓄势待发”。

天河体育中心以南的花城广场与海心沙交界处，是2023广马全程马拉松赛终点。作为终点的拱门已经安装完成，指挥中心、嘉宾室等工作用房也已搭建好。

城市在为广马准备着，参赛跑手也在为广马准备着。在一众穿专业跑鞋的跑手当中，丘鹏比较另类，皆因他的跑鞋是“人字拖”。“一些‘人字拖’，具有弹力强、质量好、越穿越贴脚的特点。”丘鹏介绍，他穿“人字拖”跑马拉松时会选用快步频小步幅跑法，这样跑不容易受伤。　　

群众性体育活动，不仅有马拉松，还有冬泳和登山。广东省冬泳协会副会长陈伯曦和广州市登山协会副主席曾满，今年都将“跨界”参加广马。陈伯曦表示，他将冬泳、桨板等运动积累的经验融入马拉松训练中。

一座城市不仅一场马拉松，正在为广马备赛的陈家继，也为同样在12月于广州举办的黄埔马拉松备赛。“在广马奔跑，大家可以看到广州经济高质量发展所呈现的城市美景；在黄马奔跑，大家可以感受世界五百强在广州最集中区域的活力场景。”陈家继表示，两场广州家门口的赛事他都不想错过。

据介绍，今年广马将有超过200名“医师跑者”为大家服务。濒危情况下对跑手开展救治，对受伤跑手施以按摩拉伸适当喷药，对慢下来但不需要医疗服务的跑手加油鼓劲，均是“医师跑者”们在广马当中为跑手所提供的服务。
