The list of the first batch of ancient tree parks in Guangzhou has been announced, with Longshan Ancient Tree Park in Zengcheng making the list.

Longshan Ancient Tree Park, located in Yongning Street, Zengcheng District, covers an area of approximately 230 acres. Situated on the landscape belt of Zhan Ruoshui's tomb, who served successively as the director of the Ministry of Civil Affairs, Rites and Military Affairs in the Ming Dynasty,the park is known for its outstanding individuals, spiritual energy, and profound cultural heritage. Within the park, there are beautiful forests on Longshan Mountain, majestic peaks embracing the rising sun, and two springs reflecting the moonlight. All these create a picturesque view. What's more, the park is filled with towering ancient trees in a serene and tranquil atmosphere. Various tree species can be found, including ironwood, flame tree chinkapin, Chinese banyan, camphor tree, Red-stem Fig, Phoebe zhennan, Chinese chestnut, Vitex quinata, Tetradium glabrifolium and so on. There are approximately 300 ironwood trees, which belong to the second-class protected wild plants in China.

Yongning Street has been actively taking measures to preserve ancient and renowned trees by enlarging and designating the "Longshan Ancient Tree Park" as the official park for these trees. Despite the swift economic growth in the neighboring areas, the urban forest still boasts over 200 acres of ancient tree forests, which serve as a prominent "green gem" in the city's greenery.

Longshan Ancient Tree Park now serves as a natural oxygen bar and a platform for promoting ecological civilization and scientific knowledge about preserving ancient trees. The park has gained immense popularity among local and out-of-town visitors, especially during holidays and weekends, as it demonstrates diverse ecological, social, and other values.

广州市第一批古树公园名单出炉！增城龙山古树公园上榜

近日，广州市公布了第一批古树公园名单，其中，增城永宁街龙山古树公园上榜。

龙山古树公园位于增城区永宁街陂头村“后龙山”，面积约230亩，处于明朝三部尚书湛若水墓园景观带上，人杰地灵、文化底蕴深厚。龙山育秀林，大岭迎旭日，二泉映明月，孖髻靓美妆。园内古木参天，清幽静谧，分布有格木、凤凰木、椎树、榕树、樟树、青果榕、楠木、假萍婆、山牡荊、楝叶吴茱萸等树种，其中，主要树种为格木（别名铁木，为国家Ⅱ级重点保护野生植物），约300株。

近年来，永宁街加大古树名木保护力度，扩大古树园面积，并将其正式命名为“龙山古树公园”。同时，周边经济快速发展，200余亩古树林成为城市森林中一颗璀璨的“绿色明珠”。

如今，龙山古树公园成为了广大市民休闲娱乐的“天然氧吧”和生态文明科普教育窗口、古树名木保护示范基地。每到节假日，就会迎来众多本土及外地游客，日益彰显生态、社会等多元价值。
