On the afternoon of October 18, the Cross-Strait Exchange Base Inauguration Ceremony and the Three-Mountain Cultural Tourism Promotion Event took place in Jieyang, Guangdong.

It was reported that to create more platforms for cross-strait cooperation and offer opportunities for people on both sides to explore history, appreciate culture, strengthen bonds, and promote shared development, nine Cross-Strait Exchange Bases were established earlier this year. Among them is the Three-Mountain King Ancestral Temple in Jieyang, Guangdong.

The Three-Mountain King culture originates from the eastern part of Guangdong, and it has now spread to Chinese Taiwan and Southeast Asia.

Dating back to over 1,400 years ago, the Three-Mountain King Ancestral Temple in Jieyang is considered the ancestral home of the Three-Mountain King temples on both sides of the strait.

As of now, there are over 460 Three-Mountain King temples in Chinese Taiwan, with over 6 million worshippers, and these temples are located across various counties and cities.

At the ceremony, it was revealed that since the first group of ancestral pilgrims from Taiwan Province visited the Three-Mountain King Ancestral Temple in Jieyang in 1988, cultural exchanges related to the Three-Mountain King culture between both sides of the strait have become increasingly frequent. The Three-Mountain King Ancestral Temple has become an essential bridge for communication and exchanges between compatriots from both sides. According to incomplete statistics, from 1998 to 2021, over 400 ancestral pilgrimage groups from Taiwan Province visited the ancestral temple, totaling more than 15,000 journeys.

Officials from the Cross-Strait Exchange Base Service Center stated that as a Cross-Strait Exchange Base, the Three-Mountain King Ancestral Temple will serve as a model and a leader in promoting cross-strait cooperation, deepening integration and development between both sides, and fostering a strong bond among compatriots. The temple will leverage its unique cultural resources to promote the Three-Mountain King culture, actively facilitate people-to-people exchanges, and further enhance economic, trade, and cultural exchanges between both sides of the strait.

广东揭阳三山国王祖庙获授牌，成为海峡两岸交流基地

10月18日下午，海峡两岸交流基地授牌仪式暨三山文化旅游推介活动在广东揭阳举行。

据了解，为创建更多两岸交流合作平台，给两岸同胞提供更多回顾历史、品味文化、畅叙亲情和共同发展的机会，今年年初9个海峡两岸交流基地获批设立，其中就包括广东揭阳三山国王祖庙。

三山国王文化是发源于粤东地区的民间信仰，如今广泛传播至中国台湾地区和东南亚等地。

揭阳三山国王祖庙距今已有1400多年，是两岸三山国王宫庙的祖庭。

据不完全统计，目前台湾地区共有三山国王宫庙460多座，信众多达600多万人，庙宇遍及各县市。

记者在仪式现场获悉，自1988年第一批台湾寻根团到揭西三山国王祖庙考察认祖以来，海峡两岸三山国王文化交流日益频繁，三山国王祖庙也日渐成为密切海峡两岸同胞交流沟通的重要桥梁。据不完全统计，自1998年至2021年，台湾地区三山国王祖庙寻根问祖团前来祖庙寻根祭祖的有400余团次，共计超1.5万人次。

海峡两岸交流基地服务中心有关负责人表示，作为海峡两岸交流基地，三山国王祖庙将在促进两岸交流合作、深化两岸融合发展、促进两岸同胞心灵契合等方面发挥示范引领作用。三山国王祖庙将着眼自身资源特殊性和唯一性，大力弘扬三山国王文化，充分发挥平台作用，积极促进两岸民间交流，进一步推动两岸经贸文化交往交流交融。
