Morgan Stanley recently released a research report titled "The Humanoid 100: Mapping the Humanoid Robot Value Chain", which ranks 100 globally influential enterprises in the humanoid robot industry chain. Among them, 11 enterprises from Guangdong were listed, with Shenzhen alone accounting for seven, including BYD, Tencent, Ubtech, and Inovance.

Data shows that Guangdong is home to over 160,000 robotics-related enterprises, with Shenzhen and Guangzhou ranking first and second among Chinese cities, respectively. Li Weichong, President of Guangzhou Li-Gong Industrial Company, stated, "38% of the global humanoid robot supply chain enterprises are in China, with 57% of them concentrated in the Guangdong-Hong Kong-Macao Greater Bay Area (GBA)."

2025 is expected to be the breakthrough year for humanoid robots. This spring has seen humanoid robots made in Guangdong garner global attention, from the world's first front flip and human-like running to stair-running stunts and dance performances, and even the appearance of exoskeleton robots and "robot reporters" at China's Two Sessions.

On March 18th, in Shunde, Foshan, a humanoid robot from Midea Group's Humanoid Robot Innovation Center went viral online for its ability to understand and execute voice commands. Wei Chang, Vice President and CTO of Midea Group revealed that the enterprise is accelerating its strategic planning and resource investment in humanoid robotics and hopes to see future products applied in industrial manufacturing and commercial scenarios.

Guangdong's leading robotics enterprise, Topstar, is also making significant strides. Chairman Wu Fengli revealed that Topstar has successfully developed a dual-arm intelligent robot and plans to collaborate with leading Chinese AI companies to establish operations in Dongguan, striving to create "the smartest robotin craftsmanship".

According to Guangdong's latest industrial report, the scale of the robotics industry in Guangdong ranks first in China. He Xiaopeng, Chairman of the Board of XPeng Motors, predicts that the Guangdong robotics industry will significantly expand, with hundreds of startups emerging in the next two to three years and industry giants appearing within 10 to 15 years. IRON, the humanoid robot made by XPeng, has already been deployed in factories. The company aims for industrial-scale production by 2026. "Guangdong's mature supply chain and strong talent attraction will drive innovative breakthroughs in multiple fields of the robotics industry," he said.
