From March 14th to 18th, six journalists from Latvia visited Guangzhou to film a documentary. During their five-day journey, they immersed themselves in Cantonese opera, explored cutting-edge Passenger Autonomous Aerial Vehicle (AAV) technology, and experienced the depth of traditional Chinese medicine. The seamless fusion of guangfu culture and modern technology left them in awe.

Experience the "flying taxi"

The EHang EH216-S, the passenger-carrying AAV is the world's first "flying taxis" certified with three aviation licenses: Production Certificate, type Certificate, and Standard Airworthiness Certificate. On March 17th, the Latvian media delegation toured the company's headquarters in Guangzhou. "I feel like I've stepped into the future! I hope this transportation mode will become a part of daily life soon," said Lelde, a Latvian journalist, as she sat inside the aircraft at EHang's showroom. "China's advanced technology has the potential to benefit the world!" she added with excitement.

"I had heard that traditional Chinese medicine (TCM) can treat illnesses that Western medicine cannot," said Lelde, whose right ankle had been swollen for three weeks and was eager to try acupuncture. After receiving treatment at Guangzhou University of Chinese Medicine, she excitedly shared, "I feel a warm flow of energy on my right side and it's so soothing!" during the interview, Lelde learned that TCM not only emphasizes holistic healing but also integrates herbal remedies and natural plant-based treatments. "The philosophy of Chinese medicine is something the whole world can learn from," she remarked.

Put on a Cantonese opera costume and snap a photo

During the filming, the journalist team visited the Cantonese Opera Museum in Guangzhou's Yongqing Fang. Latvian TV host Karspars tried on a traditional opera costume, transforming into a wusheng (a martial character for roles involving combat), and instantly became a tourist attraction himself. He consulted Cantonese opera inheritor Tang Peiwen about the unique attire and learned the saying, "Better to wear a worn costume than a mismatched one." On stage, tang guided him through a classic encounter scene between a male and female character. Though the movements appeared simple, mastering the precision and grace of Cantonese opera proved challenging. After repeated practice, Karspars marveled at the art's complexity, exclaiming, "One minute on the stage needs ten years of practice off stage!"

Among the journalists, aiga was the only one who had visited China before and she also served as the documentary's producer. "I first came to Guangzhou last November, and I fell in love with the city instantly," she shared enthusiastically. She was captivated by its warm climate, friendly people, and vibrant culture. "I can't wait to bring my wonderful experiences in Guangzhou back to Latvia and share them with audiences across Europe!" she said.

6名拉脱维亚记者来穗取景——“要把在广州的美好体验分享给欧洲观众”

3月14日至18日，6名来自拉脱维亚的记者在广州取景拍摄纪录片。在短短5天的旅程中，他们沉浸式体验粤剧艺术，探索无人驾驶载人航空器前沿科技，感受博大精深的中医文化……广府文化与科技的完美交融令他们赞叹。

亿航EH216-S无人驾驶载人航空器是全球首个“三证齐全”的“空中的士”。17日，拉脱维亚记者团来到这家位于广州的企业参观采访。“我感觉仿佛来到了未来！希望这种出行方式能很快在日常生活中普及。”在亿航智能展厅内，拉脱维亚记者Lelde坐上这款航空器时，不禁发出这样的感慨。“希望中国的高科技能够造福全球！”她满怀期待地说道。

“之前听说中医能治疗西医治不了的疾病。”Lelde的右脚踝积水3周未愈，特别想尝试针灸疗法。在广州中医药大学得到治疗后，Lelde兴奋地表示：“我感觉右侧身体像有股暖流在流动，感觉很通畅！”在采访中，Lelde了解到中医不仅讲究整体调理，还会结合草药和天然植物一起治疗，“中医理念值得全世界借鉴。”她说。

拍摄期间，记者团来到广州永庆坊粤剧博物馆。电视台主持人Karspars试穿粤剧戏服化身武生，成游客“打卡点”。他向粤剧非遗传承人唐沛文请教服饰独特之处，得知“宁穿破，不穿错”。在戏台上，唐沛文教记者表演粤剧男女相遇场景，动作虽简单，掌握精准身段和神韵却不易。反复练习后，Karspars感叹“台上一分钟，台下十年功”，深感粤剧博大精深。

Aiga是团队中唯一一位曾到访中国的记者，同时也是本次纪录片的制作人。“去年11月，我第一次来到广州，就深深爱上了这座城市。”Aiga兴奋地分享道，她被广州温暖的气候、热情的市民和丰富多彩的文化深深吸引。“我要把我在广州的美好体验，带回去分享给拉脱维亚乃至全欧洲的观众！”她说。
