2024 marks the 60th anniversary of the establishment of diplomatic relations between China and France. On November 13th, the documentary film "Kangxi and Louis XIV", which was nominated for Best Documentary/Science and Educational Film for the 37th China Golden Rooster Awards, had its Hong Kong premiere. This Sino-French co-produced documentary tells the story of how, over 300 years ago, French King Louis XIV sent six "Mathematicians of the King" to China, initiating a profound exchange between China and France in science, trade, and culture. The film was shot by a professional Chinese and French team, with scenes filmed in both countries.

It was first showcased globally in May as one of the ten Chinese films at the 10th France-China Film Festival and was screened in ten French cities. The film later appeared at the Cannes Film Festival on the Chinese film joint platform, where it garnered significant attention from both the French audience and the media. In June, "Kangxi and Louis XIV" premiered at the Shanghai International Film Festival, quickly becoming one of the top ten fastest-selling films.

 The film was screened in over 150 cinemas across Guangzhou, surpassing a box office of one million yuan by the end of June. In October, it received a nomination for Best Documentary/Science and Educational Film at the 37th China Golden Rooster Awards, and on November 9th, it won the Best Documentary Film Award at the 20th Chinese American Film Festival in Los Angeles.

展现中法交流文明互鉴，《康熙与路易十四》在香港首映

2024年是中法建交60周年，获得第37届中国电影金鸡奖最佳纪录/科教片提名的《康熙与路易十四》于11月13日在香港举行首映礼。这部中法合拍的纪录电影《康熙与路易十四》讲述三百多年前，法国国王路易十四派遣六名“国王的数学家”前往中国，由此开启影响深远的中法科技、商贸和思想文化交流。影片起用中法专业电影团队，分别在中法两国取景拍摄。

据介绍，今年5月，《康熙与路易十四》作为十部中国影片之一，在第十届法国中国电影节上进行了全球首秀，并在法国十个城市展映。随后更登上戛纳电影节的中国电影联合展台，法国观众和媒体都对影片表达了浓厚兴趣。6月《康熙与路易十四》在上海电影节火热开票，成为最快售罄的前十部电影之一。同时在广州市内超过150家影院排映，6月下旬票房已突破百万。10月《康熙与路易十四》获得第37届中国电影金鸡奖最佳纪录/科教片提名，11月9日，在洛杉矶斩获2024第二十届中美电影节最佳纪录电影奖。
