At 68 years old, Grandma Yang has gained fame online for learning to play the drums. Three years ago, her son brought home a drum set, sparking her interest in music. Despite her age, she has shown remarkable determination and enthusiasm, transforming from a rural woman with no musical background into a passionate drummer capable of playing several complex pieces.

Grandma Yang's real interest in drumming began when she started learning her first song. When her son returned home, he was surprised to find her actively playing the drums in her spare time. He suggested that she could play with a song, leading to Grandma Yang's debut performance of "Girl by the Bridge."

Despite never having formal music training, Grandma Yang practices drumming every day after her farm work, and her son guides her through videos to learn new techniques. Over time, her drumming has improved significantly, inspiring neighbors and friends, many of whom have started learning to play the drums from her.

Now, Grandma Yang's drumming performances on social media have inspired many, earning her a large following due to her optimism and vitality, leading people to call her the "Rocking Grandma." In 2021, she performed on the CCTV Double Ninth Festival stage. On June 28th, 2023, she joined other musicians in a flash mob in Guangzhou to commemorate the 30th anniversary of Wong Ka Kui's passing. Dressed in a red jacket and with her silver hair, she energetically played the intense rhythms of "Boundless Oceans," stirring the emotions of everyone present.

Through drumming, Grandma Yang has rekindled her passion for life. She openly shares, "No matter your age, if you have something you love, go ahead and learn it."

六十八岁农村杨奶奶成为“爆裂鼓手”

68岁的杨奶奶，因学习架子鼓而在网络上走红。三年前，她的儿子杨先生带回一套架子鼓，激发了杨奶奶对音乐的兴趣。尽管年过花甲，杨奶奶凭借毅力和热情，从一位毫无音乐基础的农村妇女，成长为能够演奏多首复杂曲目的架子鼓爱好者。

真正开始对架子鼓感兴趣，还得从杨奶奶开始学第一首歌开始。当儿子再次回到家，惊喜地发现母亲空闲时会主动打架子鼓，于是他向母亲提议可以配一首歌。杨奶奶的架子鼓处女作——《桥边姑娘》，就这么开始了。

尽管从未接受过音乐训练，杨奶奶每天在农活之余坚持练习，儿子则通过视频指导她学习新技巧。日积月累之下，杨奶奶的架子鼓技术实现了巨大的飞跃，也感染了身边的邻居和朋友，许多人向她学习架子鼓。

如今，杨奶奶的架子鼓演奏在社交媒体上鼓舞了许多人，她因乐观和活力吸引了大量粉丝，被大家称为“摇滚奶奶”。2021年，杨奶奶登上了央视重阳节晚会的舞台。2023年6月28日，杨奶奶还和其他音乐创作者一起，在广州街头举行了纪念黄家驹逝世30周年的快闪活动，现场，一头银发的杨奶奶身着一袭红夹克激情摇摆，鼓槌敲响《海阔天空》的炽烈节拍，让人心潮澎湃。

通过架子鼓，杨奶奶重新燃起了对生活的热情，她坦言：“无论什么年龄，只要有喜欢的，就大胆去学。”
