On September 13th, the China (Guangdong) International Tourism Industry Expo (CITIE 2024) opened at Area A in the Canton Fair Complex and will run until September 15th. The event features three themed exhibition halls: the International Culture and Tourism Hall, the Culture-Tourism Integration Hall, and the Culture-Tourism Consumer Experience Hall. Participants are from nearly 50 countries and regions, as well as over 30 domestic provinces and cities.
One-stop journey to global cultural tourism destinations
CITIE 2024 has attracted significant attention from international official tourism organizations, foreign embassies and consulates in China, and various businesses.
Countries that have recently established visa-free agreements with China, such as Thailand, Singapore, and Georgia, are showcasing their local tourism offerings in the expo. First-time exhibitors include destinations like North Queensland, Australia; Champasak Province, Laos; Murmansk and Novosibirsk in Russia; Miyazaki, Kumamoto, and Kanagawa in Japan; and Cameroon.
On the domestic front, cultural and tourism institutions from regions such as Liaoning, Jilin, Guangxi, Yunnan, Shaanxi, Ganzi in Sichuan, Nyingchi in Tibet, Kashgar in Xinjiang, and the third division of the Xinjiang Production and Construction Corps are showcasing a wide array of cultural performances and unique tourism products.
Additionally, tourism authorities from Hong Kong SAR, Macao SAR, and all 21 prefecture-level cities in Guangdong are participating, highlighting the distinctive appeal of the cultural and tourism industries in the Guangdong-Hong Kong-Macao Greater Bay Area.
Culture-tourism integration: a glimpse into the future
The special annual exhibition of CITIE 2024, focused on the "New Quality Productive Forces of Cultural Tourism", has attracted strong participation from companies specializing in land, sea, and air tourism.
In the water-based tourism sector, the Guangdong Yacht Industry Association has organized several members to exhibit luxury yachts, speedboats, jet skis, and electric hydrofoil surfboards for water sports.
In the land applications sector, Shenzhen OCT Vision Technology offers VR entertainment experiences, while Shandong Xingxiu Cultural Tourism showcases space capsules and container homes. Senchao Culture and Tourism presents art installations that blend cultural creativity with technology. Digital and smart tourism cases, including virtual humans, the metaverse, and AI applications, are on display from companies like Guangdong Mobile, China Telecom, and Leetn Culture Technology.
In the emerging low-altitude economy, EHang is showcasing the world's first passenger-carrying electric vertical takeoff and landing aircraft, which has earned three major airworthiness certifications. I-KINGTECH and Shenzhen Damoda Intelligent Control Technology are demonstrating drone formation systems and digital sky advertising, capturing industry attention.
Unlocking immersive tourism experiences
Several immersive experience projects are drawing crowds this year. In the Guangdong cultural tourism digital innovation experience zone, visitors can explore the "Smart Cultural Tourism Metaverse Experience Pavilion" onsite for an immersive journey into the metaverse.
In the expo's third consecutive year of running an online platform, the "Smart Cultural Tourism Metaverse Experience Pavilion" focuses on showcasing innovative digital tourism achievements. Using technologies like 5G, VR, naked-eye 3D, artificial intelligence, and digital twin, the pavilion offers a virtual model of the Bai'etan Greater Bay Area Art Center, providing an interactive 3D virtual tour combined with a 360-degree panoramic view.

9月13日,2024广东国际旅游产业博览会(以下简称“旅博会”)在广交会展馆A区开幕。本届旅博会线下展会设置国际文化旅游馆、文旅融合馆、文旅消费体验馆三大主题展馆,汇聚全球近50个国家和地区及国内30多个省市的文旅机构、企业参展参会,将持续至9月15日。

国际展商方面,本届旅博会得到众多境外官方旅游机构、驻华使领馆、企业的关注和响应。

国内展商方面,辽宁、吉林、广西、云南、陕西、四川甘孜、西藏林芝、新疆喀什、新疆生产建设兵团第三师等地文旅机构展示了丰富的文旅展演活动和特色文旅产品。
香港特别行政区、澳门特别行政区,以及广东省21个地级市的官方文旅机构悉数参展,展现粤港澳大湾区文旅产业的独特魅力。
文旅融合展区呈现发展新风向
本届旅博会打造年度特展——文旅新质生产力展区,吸引了“海陆空”企业积极参与。
在水系旅游领域,广东省游艇行业协会组织多家会员单位参展,展示豪华游艇、快艇、摩托艇等玩海装备以及电动水翼板等水上运动产品。
在陆地应用领域,华侨城文旅科技带来VR游乐设备体验,山东星宿文旅带来太空舱、集装箱房屋等文旅装备,森朝文旅带来融合文化创意及科技元素的光艺术装置作品;广东移动、中国电信、力天文化科技等集中呈现数字人、元宇宙、AI等虚拟现实应用及智慧文旅实践案例。
在低空经济领域,亿航智能带来全球首个获得适航“三大通行证”的载人无人驾驶电动垂直起降航空器;云圣智能、大漠大智控带来无人机编队系统及夜空数字广告等案例展示,引发业界关注。
解锁沉浸式文旅新玩法
本届旅博会上,多个沉浸式体验项目备受瞩目。在广东文旅数字化创新体验区,通过元宇宙线下体验空间,公众即可在旅博会现场沉浸式体验线上“智慧文旅元宇宙体验馆”。
作为旅博会连续第三年打造的线上平台,“智慧文旅元宇宙体验馆”聚焦数字世界场景创新和文旅数字化优秀成果内容展示,利用5G、VR(虚拟现实)、裸眼3D、人工智能、数字孪生等技术手段,对白鹅潭大湾区艺术中心进行建模,呈现全新形象,实现线上3D虚拟漫游与360°全景相结合。
