Recently, universities in the GBA start to send out their admission letters, showcasing unique items such as commemorative badge mystery boxes, high-performance meta-amide paper, "golden films" with a thickness of just 1/300 of human hair, and signed jerseys from star players. Each admission letter has become a "cultural name card" of the university.

Tech battle: high-performance meta-amide paper and "golden films"

The core design of Sun Yat-sen University's admission letter features the "Gateway to the Century" badge, which combines the images of the digit "100" and a golden time portal. The first "0" represents the archway of the Swasey Hall, embedded with a holographic optical quartz plate inscribed with the university emblem, which was developed collaboratively by the faculty, students, and alumni of the School of Physics of Sun Yat-sen University. When illuminated, it projects the image of the university's motto. The second "0" is envisioned as a futuristic revolving door, embedded with silicon wafers made from materials donated by the alumni.

The admission letter from South China University of Technology is made from the high-performance meta-amide paper developed by the university's National Engineering Research Center of Paper-making and Pollution Control after more than a decade's efforts to make technological breakthroughs, which have overcome foreign technological monopolies. The admission letter and the bookmark exhibit both daylight and fluorescence effects; when exposed to ultraviolet light, the back of the letter will transform into a "Hall of Knowledge" and a "Gateway to the Future".

The admission letter box from Hong Kong University of Science and Technology (Guangzhou), named "Exploration", contains a special "golden film". This significant invention by the HKUST (Guangzhou) research team was created by merging the world's toughest ultra-high molecular weight polyethylene nanomembrane with gold.The golden film, only 1/300 the thickness of a human hair, boasts a tensile strength more than 25 times that of stainless steel while being transparent, breathable, and waterproof. It enables the freshmentograsp and appreciate the wonders of nanotechnology with just their naked eyes and fingers.

Welcome gifts: signed jerseys and Yao embroidery lanyards

The theme of Guangdong University of Technology's 2024 admission letter box is "Youthful Passion", reflecting hopes for the new students. The university's basketball team has clinched numerous championships, from the CUBAL League to the Asian University 3×3 Basketball Championships. Accompanying the admission letter is a signed jersey of star player Chen Guohao, number 23, with an aim to convey the spirit of "daring to struggle for victory" to the newcomers.

In the admission letter package from Guangdong University of Foreign Studies, there's a unique "welcome gift" for new students—a lanyard featuring Yao embroidery,a national-level intangible cultural heritage from Ruyuan YaoAutonomous County. This small lanyard symbolizes the preservation and promotion of intangible cultural heritage while calling upon students to engage in significant projects and rural revitalization efforts.

Alongside Jinan University's 2024 undergraduate admission letters comes the "Jinan Boat Tale"—a commemorative card in the form of a wooden red-sailed boat. Upon opening the card, a wooden red-sailed boat instantly emerges, complete with the striking "big-eyed rooster" at the bow, sailing through waves on a small piece of paper.

Upon opening the red envelope embossed with golden characters containing South China Agricultural University's motto, one finds four bookmarks and an abundance of university-themed stickers, which are the symbols of students' new identity as members ofthe university.There is also a customized campus bank card and "the first assignment from the university"—to engage in social practice and read a classic work.

Creative expressions: abook and a window

The 2024 admission letter from South China Normal University continues the design from last year's 90th-anniversary edition, taking the form of a book, symbolizing the university's mission of educating students.

Shantou University's admission letter maintains its recruitment theme of 2024—to open a window. The front features a window as a design motif, integrating iconic buildings such as the Truth Bell and the "Big Self, Small Self" statue. The back uses gold foil design for the character "汕" ("Shan"), signifying that the new students will use Shantou University as a window to open new chapters in their lives.

Guangzhou University's admission letter employs a design containing a cover and a pop-up book, with a three-dimensional representation of the campus's iconic architecture, blending elements of the Flower City and showcasing the charm of Yangcheng (the City of Rams). When the cover is opened, the pop-up book unfolds slowly, just like opening a door to an unknown world.

创意满满的高校录取通知书给新生带来惊喜

日前，大湾区高校已陆续发放录取通知书，其中可见校徽纪念章盲盒、高性能间位芳纶纸、仅有头发丝1/300厚度的“金色薄膜”、明星球员签名球衣……一封封录取通知书成为了学校的“文化名片”。

拼科技：高性能间位芳纶纸、“金色薄膜”等大招频出

中山大学录取通知书里最核心的设计是“世纪之门”徽章，融合了数字100和金色时光大门的意象。其中，第一个“0”是怀士堂拱门形象，这扇门镶嵌着刻有中大校徽的全息光学石英片，该石英片由中大物理学院师生和校友共同研制，通过光源照射可以投射中大校训图案。第二个“0”则是充满未来感的旋转门，中间镶嵌有校友捐赠的芯片制作原材料硅晶圆。

华南理工大学录取通知书所用纸张，是由华南理工大学造纸与污染控制国家工程研究中心团队，经过十余年技术攻关，打破国外核心技术垄断，所研发的高性能间位芳纶纸。录取通知书以及书签还兼具日光效果和荧光效果。如果用紫光灯照射录取通知书背面，将华丽变身为“知识殿堂”“未来之门”。

香港科技大学（广州）录取通知书礼盒命名为《探索》，当中有一张特别的“金色薄膜”。这项港科大（广州）科研团队的重磅发明，由世界上最坚韧的超高分子量聚乙烯纳米膜为基体和黄金“融合”而成。金色薄膜仅有头发丝1/300厚度，却具有超过不锈钢25倍的比强度，同时还透明、透气、防水。新生只用肉眼和手指，就能欣赏和触碰纳米技术的奇妙。

见面礼：签名球衣、瑶绣挂绳等抢鲜开箱

热血青春“篮”不住既是广东工业大学2024年通知书礼盒的主题，也是对新生的期许。从CUBAL联赛到亚洲大学生3×3篮球锦标赛，广工篮球队接连夺冠。随通知书赠送的广工明星球员陈国豪23号签名球衣，将“勇于拼搏、敢于胜利”的广工精神传递给新广工人。

在广东外语外贸大学通知书礼盒中，有一件送给新生们的独特的“见面礼”——来自瑶乡乳源的国家级非遗瑶绣挂绳。小小挂绳既是对非物质文化遗产的传承和弘扬，亦是对学子投身百千万工程、乡村振兴建设的号召。

凹造型：一本“书”、一“汕”窗等创意表达

2024年华南师范大学录取通知书在设计上沿用去年90周年校庆版的礼盒形式，整体以“书”为造型，寓意着教书育人的师范大学属性。

汕头大学通知书则延续本年度招生宣传推开一“汕”窗的主题。正面采用“汕”形窗口作为图案纹理，并融合了真理钟、“大我小我”雕像等的标志性建筑，背面将“汕”字进行烫金设计，寓意着新生将以汕大为窗口，打开人生新篇章。

广州大学通知书采用封套＋立体书的设计，校园标志性建筑立体式嵌入，融合花城元素，尽显羊城风采。翻开封套，立体书缓缓展现，如同推开一扇未知世界的大门。
