On August 2nd, to accommodate the increased visitor demand during the summer holidays, the Guangdong Museum announced that from now until August 31st, 2024, it would allow visitors to enter the museum without a prior reservation from 9:00 to 9:30 a.m. on regular opening days by registering with their ID on-site. During other hours, the museum will continue to require reservations for entry. This initiative has drawn many locals and tourists to take advantage of this opportunity.

"I saw the news about the walk-in entry last night by chance. Since I have a flight to catch in the afternoon, I came directly with my luggage to queue up!" Ms. Zhou, a tourist from Guangxi province, told reporters. She and her colleague arrived in Guangzhou on August 1st and had wanted to visit the Guangdong Museum but couldn't get tickets. Today is their last day in Guangzhou, and the museum's walk-in entry provided the perfect ending to their trip.

Ms. Deng, a tourist from Hunan province who queued up with her child, said she saw the walk-in news on social media last night. To ensure they could enter before 9:30 a.m., she and her son left home at 7 a.m. "I wanted to bring my child to learn about Guangdong's history and culture. The half-hour walk-in policy is very considerate, making our trip from out of town worthwhile!"

Mr. Mo, a local Guangzhou resident, hurried to experience the new policy. He mentioned that the fixed time slot for walk-in entry could help curb scalping, ensuring that museum resources truly benefit the public instead of becoming a source of profit for ticket scalpers. "I wanted to see if the news was true after I heard about it yesterday," he said.

Ling Lili, deputy director of the Guangdong Museum, explained that this walk-in policy is an experiment for the museum. Since the start of the summer peak, visitor demand has skyrocketed. The museum's maximum capacity is 8,000 people, yet about 200,000 people attempt to book free tickets daily through the museum's official WeChat mini-program.

During the summer holidays, tickets to the Guangdong Museum are originally difficult to obtain. Although tickets are free, scalpers sell them for as much as 95 yuan, significantly reducing access for ordinary visitors.

Ling Lili noted that, like other popular museums in China, the Guangdong Museum, the only national key museum jointly established by the central and local governments in South China and the only provincial comprehensive museum in Guangdong, has long struggled with scalpers. In response to this issue, the museum is working with online ticketing platforms to remove scalper tickets from their sites.

She further stated that the new half-hour walk-in policy is also a measure to combat scalping. The museum plans to adjust the policy based on actual conditions. "If there are too many visitors or the queue is too long, the visitor experience will suffer. So, we are researching related measures!"

省博每天半小时免预约，大批市民游客前往体验

8月2日，广东省博物馆为缓解暑假期间广大观众参观需求，决定到2024年8月31日前，正常开放日的9:00至9:30时段内采取限量现场登记身份证入馆方式，其他时段照常预约入馆，吸引大量市民游客前来尝鲜体验。

“昨天晚上偶然看到免预约的消息，因为下午要赶飞机，所以就直接拉着行李箱来排队了！”正在排队的广西游客周女士告诉记者，她和同事8月1日来到广州游玩，她们一直想到省博参观，但始终约不上门票。今天刚好是她们在广州游玩的最后一天，省博此次的免预约让她们的旅程画上了完美的句号。

带着孩子前来排队的湖南游客邓女士表示，她昨天晚上在社交平台看到了免预约的消息，为了赶到九点半前入馆，她和儿子早上七点就出门了。“特意带小朋友来了解一下广东的历史文化，博物馆半小时免预约特别人性化，这让我们这些外地游客不虚此行！”

匆匆赶来尝鲜的广州市民莫先生表示，博物馆固定时间段免预约可以在一定程度上抵制黄牛倒票行为，“让博物馆资源真正为公众所享，而不是变成黄牛的利益池。昨天看到消息后，我就想来体验到底是不是真的。”

广东省博物馆副馆长凌丽莉告诉记者，此次免预约是博物馆的一次尝试。进入暑期客流高峰以来，观众的参观需求呈直线飙升，该馆最大承载量为8000人次，据博物馆后台测算每天却有约20万人进入馆方小程序预约免费门票。

暑假期间，广东省博物馆本就“一票难求”。原本免费的门票，却被“黄牛”明码标价95元进行售卖，严重挤兑了普通观众的观展需求。

凌丽莉表示，作为华南地区唯一一家中央地方共建国家级重点博物馆、广东省唯一的省级综合性博物馆，广东省博物馆和国内其他热门博物馆一样，长期以来饱受“黄牛票”的困扰。此次事件发生后，博物馆正在跟各个售卖博物馆门票的网络平台沟通，提出从平台层面下架“黄牛票”。

她还表示，此次的每天半小时免预约入馆措施，也是抵制“黄牛票”的新举措，接下来馆方还将根据实际情况动态调整。“如果观众太多、排队太久，他们的参观体验也会很差，我们正在研究相关措施！”
