On June 27th, which marks the beginning of the 500-day countdown to China's 15th National Games, the reporters heard from the press briefing by the Guangdong Division Organizing Committee of the 15th National Games and the 12th National Games for Persons with Disabilities (NGD) and the 9th National Special Olympic Games (NSOG) that the preparations in Guangdong have reached a new milestone.

Guangdong will host 350 events

The 15th National Games will feature a total of 34 sports and 401 events. Guangdong will host 350 events. Specifically, Guangzhou will manage 136 events, constituting 34% of the total, while Shenzhen will handle 82 events, making up 20% of the total.

It should be noted that following the Paris Olympics, the General Administration of Sport of China will adjust specific events in the 15th National Games based on the event structure of the 2028 Los Angeles Olympics. This adjustment will also correspondingly alter the overall event arrangement.

The 15th National Games will include a total of 23 sports comprising 166 events. Guangdong will host 152 events, and the project is under development.

Creating the first "carbon-neutral" National Games in history

Guangdong has confirmed its responsibility for 78 venues hosting events in the 15th National Games, with over 90% of them being existing venues undergoing renovations. Among the 34 competition venues for the NSOG, 21 will be shared with the National Games. The majority of these venues are expected to be completed by the end of 2024, with all renovation and construction work finished by the end of March 2025.

In efforts to create a "carbon-neutral" National Games, comprehensive measures are being implemented during venue renovation and construction. These measures combine building and equipment improvements aimed at efficiency and carbon reduction. Green and low-carbon technologies are actively introduced to promote harmonious coexistence between venues and nature, effectively reducing carbon emissions.

Taking the Guangdong Olympic Sports Center as an example, measures include adding sunshade awnings for UV protection, installing solar photovoltaic panels, and incorporating green vine plants to create a green corridor. At the Guangzhou University City Sports Center, the climbing venue will feature an efficient multi-split system meeting the latest energy-saving standards, transforming it into a "zero-carbon building".

In the context of green and low-carbon practices for new venues, the Shenzhen Guangming International Equestrian Center was designed with a strong emphasis on integrating green vegetation, achieving a green coverage rate of 10%. The sports hall at South China Agricultural University was designed with a comprehensive consideration for on-site rainwater infiltration and storage for reuse, purifying water for irrigation of surrounding greenery.

In terms of technological empowerment, close attention is being paid during venue renovation and construction to emerging industries such as new energy storage systems (ESS), low-altitude economy, and the promotion of HarmonyOS, actively promoting the application of high-tech advancements. For instance, the Guangdong Olympic Sports Center will undergo comprehensive upgrades to integrate smart information systems, transforming it into a smart venue. Several venues in Shenzhen will deploy integrated demonstration applications like "light storage, ultra-fast charging, vehicle-grid interaction", advancing applications enhanced by 5G technology.

倒计时500天，十五运会努力打造史上首届“碳中和”全运会

6月27日恰逢第十五届全国运动会倒计时500天。记者从当天召开的第十五届全国运动会（简称十五运会）和全国第十二届残疾人运动会暨第九届特殊奥林匹克运动会（简称残特奥会）广东赛区执行委员会新闻通气会上获悉，广东赛区的筹备工作迈上新台阶。

广东将承办350个小项

十五运会设竞体项目共34个大项，401个小项，广东将承办350个小项。其中，广州承担136个小项，占总小项数的34%，深圳承担82个小项，占总小项数的20%。

需要指出的是，在巴黎奥运会之后，国家体育总局将根据2028年洛杉矶奥运会的项目设置，对十五运会竞体项目设置进行个别小项的调整，项目布局也将会相应调整。

十五运会群体项目共23个大项，166个小项，广东将承办其中152个小项，项目布局正在推进中。

打造“碳中和”全运会

广东省已明确承接十五运会竞体项目场馆78个，90%以上利用现有场馆进行维修改造。残特奥会34个比赛场馆中，有21个场馆与十五运会使用同一场馆。预计绝大部分的场馆将在2024年底完工，2025年3月底前完成所有场馆维修建设工作。

为努力打造一届“碳中和”全运会，场馆维修建设过程中综合运用建筑与设备提效减碳措施，积极引入绿色低碳技术实现场馆与自然的和谐共生，有效降低碳排放。

以广东省奥林匹克体育中心为例，将新增遮阳水平挑檐防晒，安装太阳能光伏板，植入绿化藤蔓植物，形成绿色环廊。广州大学城体育中心的攀岩场场馆设置满足最新节能规范要求的高效多联机系统，将改造为“零碳建筑”。

在新建场馆绿色低碳实践方面，深圳市光明国际马术中心在设计时充分考虑了绿色植被的融入，绿化覆盖率达到10%。华南农业大学体育馆设计统筹考虑雨水就地入渗和蓄积利用，净化水质后用于建筑周边绿化灌溉。

在科技赋能方面，在场馆维修建设中密切关注新型储能、低空经济、开源鸿蒙技术推广等新兴产业，积极推动高新技术应用。如广东省奥林匹克体育中心将对场馆智能信息一体化全面升级改造，打造智慧场馆。深圳市多个场馆将部署“光储超充、车网互动”一体化示范应用场景，开展基于5G增强技术应用。
