Auto Guangzhou rounds off with NEV increasingly in the public eye

On November 26th, the 21st Guangzhou International Auto Show (Auto Guangzhou) concluded after a 10-day run, attracting a total of 847,000 visitors. Simultaneously, the organizing committee announced that the next auto show will take place from November 15th to 24th, 2024.

According to official data from Auto Guangzhou, this year's event showcased a total of 1,132 new vehicles, among which 469 were new energy vehicles, an impressive share of 41.43%. Many automotive companies revealed that trends of electrification and intelligentization require accelerating innovation to stand out in the fierce market competition of automobile industry.

The current Auto Guangzhou serves as a microcosm of the automotive market that has witnessed the rapid development of new energy vehicles. Data reveals that from January to October this year, China's production and sales of new energy vehicles reached 7.352 million and 7.28 million units, respectively, marking a year-on-year growth of 33.9% and 37.8% with a market share of 30.4%. The exports of new energy vehicles reached 995,000 units with a remarkable 99.1% increase compared to the same period of 2022.

Intelligent vehicles garnered significant attention in this year's auto show. Numerous automakers showcased their comprehensive lineup of new energy vehicles, with a focus on their research and development achievements in new energy technologies, including new models and innovative technologies. Even joint venture brands, which had been hesitant in the past, have exhibited their latest new energy vehicles under the push of market potential, accelerating their transition towards new energy.

Mr. Huang from Shenzhen said, "I have visited the auto show a few times before, and this time, I noticed that intelligent development in the automotive industry is on a fast track. Many manufacturers of traditional fuel vehicles have also introduced new energy vehicles and shifted focus on concepts such as autonomous driving, intelligent cabins, vehicle connectivity, and cloud computing. This broadens my understanding of the automotive industry and helps me make more comprehensive purchasing decisions."

Ms. Lin, a university student in Guangzhou, said, "I feel that there are more affordable vehicles with an increasing level of technology and intelligentization. After browsing around, I discovered that there are quite a few options available at around 150,000 yuan, and some automakers have even introduced new models priced below 100,000 yuan, with decent configurations in various aspects."

Throughout this year, "price reductions" have been a recurring theme in the Chinese automobile market. From Tesla's announcement of price cuts followed by companies like XPeng, NIO, and Volvo, the NEV market has experienced a wave of price reductions that have had an impact on the overall industry.

An industry insider revealed that intense competition in China's NEV industry has led many automakers to engage in price reductions and promotions. Sustainable business models and profitability are essential to secure a certain market share.

Some believe that with the gradual manifestation of various policies aimed at stabilizing the economy and boosting consumption, along with the gradual restoration of consumer confidence, the Chinese automotive market will witness new growth opportunities.

广州国际车展闭幕,新能源汽车备受关注

11月26日,历时10天的第二十一届广州国际汽车展览会落下帷幕,共吸引观众84.7万人次。同时,组委会宣布下一届车展将于2024年11月15日至24日举办。

据广州国际车展官方数据,今年共有1132辆新车参展,其中有469辆是新能源汽车,占比达到41.43%。不少车企表示,电动化和智能化是汽车产业发展的趋势,需要加速创新才能在激烈的市场竞争中脱颖而出。

广州国际车展是汽车市场的一个缩影,见证了新能源汽车的快速发展。数据显示,今年1月-10月,中国新能源汽车产销量分别达735.2万辆和728万辆,同比分别增长33.9%和37.8%,市场占有率达30.4%;新能源汽车出口99.5万辆,同比增长99.1%。

在本次广州国际车展上,智能化汽车备受关注。多家车企以全面新能源阵容参展,重点展示品牌在新能源技术方面的研发成果,包括新车型、新技术等。此前持观望态度的合资品牌受市场压力影响,也携带最新款的新能源汽车参展,加速向新能源汽车转型。

来自深圳的黄先生表示:“我之前就来看过几次车展,这次感觉汽车的智能化速度非常快。不少传统燃油车企也纷纷推出新能源汽车,并强调自动驾驶、智能座舱、车联网、云计算等概念,扩宽了我对汽车行业的认知,也有助于做出更全面的购车决策。”

在广州上大学的林小姐提到:“感觉车的科技感和智能化水平在不断提升,而价格越来越亲民了。逛了一圈,发现15万元左右就能有不少选择,有车企甚至推出10万元以下的新品,且各方面配置看起来还可以。”

今年以来,“降价”贯穿了整个中国汽车市场。从特斯拉官宣降价,到小鹏、蔚来、沃尔沃等车企出手,新能源汽车市场刮起降价潮,且影响了整个车市。

一位业内人士告诉记者,当前中国新能源汽车行业竞争十分激烈,不少车企都在降价促销。如果想要占据一定的市场份额,要有可持续的商业模式和盈利能力。

有业内人士认为,随着各种稳经济、促消费政策的作用逐渐显现,消费信心的逐渐恢复,中国汽车市场将迎来新的上升空间。
