On October 25th, the Longping Academy Port in Guangzhou hosted the unveiling ceremony of the commemorative stamp for the "50th Anniversary of the Successful Cultivation of the First Hybrid Rice Plant in the World". This event was held to honor the remarkable milestone achieved in cultivating the world's first hybrid rice plant, commemorating its 50th anniversary since its successful development.

Hybrid rice cultivation stands as a significant achievement in modern agricultural technology. It was successfully developed by Academician Yuan Longping in 1973 and has become a remarkable milestone in the history of global agricultural development after 50 years of innovative advancements.

The stamp design adopts the language of copperplate engraving, characterized by intricate lines and delicate hues, rendering a rich and vibrant composition. The golden rice ears in the artwork cleverly blend with the vast fields to form the shape of rice grains. On the right side of the image, the diagram illustrates the breeding principle of the "three-line" of hybrid rice (including the male-sterile line, male-sterile maintainer line and male-sterile restorer line), showcasing a clever design concept with a distinct and prominent theme.

Produced by the Postage Stamp Printing Bureau of China Post Group using the partial embossing printing technique, the stamp is planned to be issued in a quantity of 6.711 million sets.

At the event, stamp collectors and the public gathered at the temporary post office to collect commemorative cancellations, admire stamp exhibitions, and take memorable photographs, adding a beautiful touch to the stamp unveiling ceremony.

The commemorative stamp celebrating the "50th Anniversary of the Successful Cultivation of the First Hybrid Rice Plant in the World" not only honors Yuan's dream of "resting under the panicles," but also represents China's agricultural and scientific history. Stamp collecting is a way to learn about the world in the past and at present.

这枚“有稻香味”的邮票在广州首发

为了纪念第一株杂交水稻培育成功50周年，10月25日，《世界上第一株杂交水稻培育成功五十周年》纪念邮票首发仪式在广州隆平院士港举办。

杂交水稻是现代农业科技的重大成就之一，由袁隆平院士于1973年成功培育，经过50年的创新发展，成为了世界农业发展史上一道靓丽的风景线。

邮票图案采用铜版画的绘画语言，由细密的排线和淡彩构成，画面层次丰富，色彩清新明快。画面中金黄的稻穗与广阔的田野巧妙同构，形成稻谷米粒的形状，画面右侧展现了“三系法”杂交水稻育种原理图，设计构思巧妙，主题鲜明突出。

邮票由北京邮票厂采用胶雕套印（局部压凸）工艺印制，计划发行数量为671.1万套。

现场广大集邮爱好者与市民在临时邮局收集纪念图印戳、观摩邮票展览与拍照打卡，为邮票首发仪式增添一道亮丽的风景线。

《世界上第一株杂交水稻培育成功五十周年》纪念邮票不仅是为纪念“禾下乘凉梦”而专门发行的邮票，更是承载了中国农业发展及中国科学发展的历史。集邮知天下，方寸藏古今。
