Low-carbon becomes a trend at the Canton Fair

The 134th China Import and Export Fair (the Canton Fair) integrates the concept of green development into every aspect of the exhibition, showcasing approximately 430,000 green low-carbon products and approximately 110,000 intelligent products. It achieves the first-ever full coverage of low-carbon and environmentally friendly electricity consumption in the 67-year history of the fair, with zero carbon emissions from electricity consumption. It also guides green development by awarding booths using professional environmentally friendly materials.

Yangcheng Evening News found at the second phase of the Canton Fair that low-carbon and environmentally friendly products were spread throughout the exhibition areas, such as daily ceramics, kitchen utensils, and bathroom equipment. Green and environmentally friendly products have become the top products of many exhibitors at this Canton Fair: Straws, lunch boxes and plastic-coated products made from bamboo, corn, sugar cane, wood, new ceramic tableware made of recycled porcelain, bathroom products that save water and reduce consumption through design adjustments...

"After the sugar cane is squeezed out for sugar, it can be a treasure. Customers like some products made from sugarcane pulp. Our best-selling product now is sugarcane straws," said Yu Xiao, deputy general manager of Guangzhou Jiurong Packaging Co., Ltd.

"Plastic packaging boxes are not so friendly to the environment. As a result, paper products have become popular among customers, especially bamboo pulp products." Yu Xiao said that under the restriction on plastic in Europe, the United States, and other regions, purchasing plastics means higher tariffs for companies. Jiurong Packaging's paper products are facing opportunities in Germany, Spain, France, etc. 

"We launch an average of over 1300 new products each year, and we expect to receive intention orders of around 6 million US dollars at this year's Canton Fair," said the person in charge of Guangzhou Runzhi Import & Export Co., Ltd. Over 80% of their customers who have signed orders with them are acquired at the Canton Fair. Since the start of this exhibition, they have already received intention purchase orders from markets such as Europe and the United States, and the order volume from South America has also grown rapidly. They look forward to further expanding the international market with the help of this foreign trade platform, the Canton Fair.

At the same time, creative home ceramics combining matte texture and brushed reactive glaze attracted the attention of buyers from Central Asia, Eastern Europe, and other regions, who stopped to inquire. These ceramic products are made of partly recycled porcelain, mainly from defective products in the production process and daily discarded porcelains.

Some exhibitors also achieve low-carbon and environmental protection through design. "Because of the requirements for environmental protection, energy conservation and emission reduction, we have made adjustments in product design, such as reducing product weight, shrinking size, and adjusting packaging," said a staff member of Huida Sanitary Ware Co., Ltd.

As of 17:00 on October 25th, the total number of overseas buyers attending this year's Canton Fair is about 150,000 from 214 countries and regions, with an increase of over 50% compared to the same period of the previous session.


“低碳风”劲吹广交会

展出绿色低碳产品约43万件、智能化产品约11万件,实现举办67年来首次低碳环保绿色用电全覆盖、用电零排碳,引导使用专业环保型材的绿色展位奖评选……第134届中国进出口商品交易会(以下简称“广交会”)把绿色发展理念贯穿会展各环节。

羊城晚报记者在本届广交会第二期展会现场发现,低碳环保的产品遍布日用陶瓷、餐厨用具、卫浴设备等展区。由竹子、玉米、甘蔗、木料等“变身”而成的吸管、餐盒和塑料涂层制品,加入了大量回收再利用瓷材的新制陶瓷餐具,通过设计调整实现节水降耗的卫浴产品……绿色环保产品成为不少参展企业在本届广交会上的“拳头”产品。

“甘蔗在榨完糖之后,可以说‘全身都是宝’。客户很喜欢一些甘蔗浆制成的产品,我们现在卖得最好的就是甘蔗浆纸吸管。”广州玖荣包装制品有限公司副总经理禹潇说。

“用塑料制成的打包盒,对环境不那么友好。纸质产品转而成了客户追捧的一类产品,尤其是竹浆类产品。”禹潇说,欧美等地区“限塑令”之下,企业采购塑料意味着更高的关税,玖荣包装的纸质产品在德国、西班牙、法国等迎来市场机遇。

“我们每年平均推出新品超过1300款,本届广交会预计能收获600万美元左右的意向订单。”广州市润致进出口有限公司相关负责人表示,公司逾八成客户都是通过广交会结识并签下订单,自本届展会开展以来已收获了不少来自欧洲、美国等市场采购商的意向采购订单,南美地区的订单量也增长迅猛,期待借助广交会这一外贸平台,进一步开拓国际市场。

同时,展会上哑光质感与拉丝反应釉结合的创意家居陶瓷,吸引了来自中亚、东欧等地区的采购商驻足询问。这些陶瓷产品由一部分回收瓷作为材料,这些回收瓷主要来自于生产环节的不良品以及日常废旧的瓷器产品。

一些参展企业还通过设计来实现低碳环保。“因为绿色环保、节能减排、减少碳足迹的要求,我们在产品设计上有所调整,譬如减轻产品重量、缩小尺寸,还有对包装的调整。”惠达卫浴股份有限公司的工作人员说。

截至10月25日17时,本届广交会境外采购商累计到会人数约15万,来自214个国家和地区,到会人数比上届同期增幅超50%。
