At 8 PM on August 18^th, the dance drama "Wing Chun", originally made in Shenzhen, took the stage at the Guangzhou Opera House. After touring 20 cities, "Wing Chun" returned to Guangdong, the homeland of its protagonist, Yip Man.

"Wing Chun" portrays the image of Chinese heroes represented by Yip Man, a Chinese martial artist and grandmaster of Wing Chun. Yip Man was born in Foshan, Guangdong, on October 1^st, 1893. In 1949, he left Foshan for Hong Kong, where he settled and taught the boxing techniques of Wing Chun, attracting numerous students, including foreign students.

In this dance drama, the five major martial arts schools, including Wing Chun, Southern Mantis Fist, Baguazhang (or "Eight Trigram Palm"), Bajiquan, and Tai Chi, all make appearances. Wing Chun, with its over 200 years of history as a traditional kung fu, receives a perfect and innovative interpretation in the performance. Meanwhile, another national-level intangible cultural heritage from Guangdong with its thousand-year history, Xiangyun silk, is incorporated into the costumes for characters through "Shenzhen design".

Earlier this year, shortly after its debut, "Wing Chun" appeared at the 2023 New Year's Eve gala hosted by the Chinese multimedia platform Bilibili, where the "Masters of the Five Martial Arts Schools" engaged in a 13-minute-long duel. The performance instantly gained popularity among young audiences, whose segment gained over 2.91 million views and nearly 5 million likes on Bilibili.

"Wing Chun" sets sail with strong Lingnan characteristics from the Guangdong-Hong Kong-Macao Greater Bay Area. After its premiere in Shenzhen, it toured across the country. In April of this year, "Wing Chun" made its debut at the National Centre for the Performing Arts in Beijing, with five sold-out performances within three days. This marked the first time for an original dance drama from Shenzhen to be staged at the National Centre for the Performing Arts. It is reported that since March this year, "Wing Chun" has toured 20 cities, performed in 22 theaters, and staged 73 shows nationwide. With tickets in high demand and receiving widespread acclaim, it has become a phenomenal production in the domestic musical and dance market.

广东原创舞剧《咏春》回乡演出热度不减

8月18日晚8时，深圳出品舞剧《咏春》登上广州大剧院的舞台。在走过了20城之后，《咏春》再次回到故事主角“叶问”的故乡广东。

《咏春》塑造了以中国近现代武术家、咏春拳宗师叶问为代表的“中国英雄”形象。1893年10月1日，叶问出生在广东佛山。1949年，叶问离开佛山赴香港定居，并在香港传授咏春拳技，跟其习武者众多，其中不乏外国留学生。

在舞剧《咏春》中，五大功夫门派咏春拳、南螳螂拳、八卦掌、八极拳、太极拳悉数登场。咏春拳作为拥有200多年历史的传统文化大IP，也在剧中得到了完美而又创新的诠释。与此同时，广东国家级非遗——有一千多年历史的香云纱，则通过“深圳设计”穿在不同角色身上。

今年年初，该剧在问世不久便登上B站2023跨年晚会，“五大门派掌门人”以一段长达13分钟的对决演绎，让该剧在年轻人中一炮而红。节目选段短片在B站获得了291万的点击量和近500万的点赞次数。

《咏春》带着浓浓的岭南风味从粤港澳大湾区启航，在深圳首演后走向全国。今年4月，《咏春》首登北京国家大剧院，3天内共安排了5场演出，场场爆满，这也是深圳原创舞剧首次登陆国家大剧院。据悉，今年3月起，《咏春》走过全国20座城市、22座剧院，演出73场，所到之处一票难求，广受好评，成为国内歌舞剧市场的现象级作品。
