The 2023 South China Book Festival and Yangcheng Book Fair (shortly referred to as "South China Book Festival") will kick off from August 18th to 22nd in Area B of the Canton Fair Complex, with 535 municipal subsidiary venues and 73 rural ones set up across the province.

 As the largest one in its history, the current festival sets new records in the area of the exhibition and the number of exhibitors. The total exhibition area has expanded from 660,000 square meters to 1.1214 million square meters (including 40,000 square meters for the main venue), with divided zones increasing from 25 to 39 and exhibitors growing from over 300 to 1,107.

The 2023 South China Book Festival will be showcasing an even greater variety of books and cultural creative products expected to exceed 300,000 varieties. More than ten major domestic publishers, including China Publishing Group, Straits Publishing and Distribution Group, Central South Publishing and Media Group, Sino United Publishing (Holdings) Limited, and Hall de Cultura, will be participating with their subsidiary publishers.

Spain, the guest of honor at this year's festival, will organize a series of activities including a parent-child storytelling session of picture books, live flamenco performances, the "Cervantes Literary Journey" event and wine-tasting sessions.

The 2023 South China Book Festival pays special emphasis on digital empowerment and the integration of culture and tourism. The Technology Integration Pavilion will host events like Robot World Cup by using 3D dynamic technology and VR panoramic techniques. The Culture and Tourism Integration Pavilion will demonstrate intangible cultural heritage techniques such as Guangzhou olive carving, guqin making, and woodblock New Year painting, along with impromptu drama performances and folk-art exhibitions. 

Notably, the current book festival has invited hundreds of celebrities and writers and will host a total of 2,172 high-quality cultural events. Additionally, the main venue will set up 15 live-streaming rooms to conduct 107 online live-streaming activities.

The 2023 South China Book Festival allows readers to enjoy a feast of books and provides a platform for integrating technology, culture and tourism, brimming with Guangdong's cultural allure.

史上规模最大南国书香节8月18日起举办

2023南国书香节暨羊城书展（以下简称“南国书香节”）将于8月18日至22日举办，主会场回归广交会展馆B区，全省设立535个地市分会场，73个乡村分会场。

据介绍，今年南国书香节是历史上规模最大的一届，展区面积和参展商数量均创历史新高。其中，展区总面积从66万平方米增至112.14万平方米（主会场4万平方米），展区数量从25个增至39个，参展企业从300多家增加至1107家。　　

本届南国书香节图书、文创产品进一步增大，预计超过30万种。中国出版集团、海峡出版发行集团、中南出版传媒集团、联合出版集团、澳门文化公所等10多家国内重点出版集团带着旗下品牌出版社纷纷参展。

西班牙本届南国书香节的主宾国，将举办西班牙亲子绘本故事会、“弗拉门戈”Live演出，“塞万提斯文学之旅”及红酒品鉴活动。

本届南国书香节特别注重数字赋能和文旅融合。科技融合馆运用3D动态技术、VR全景手段，举办机器人世界杯等活动；文旅融合馆展示广州榄雕、古琴斫制、木版年画等非遗技艺，同时还将举办读剧、即兴戏剧表演等。

值得一提的是，本届书香节邀请到数百位名人、作家，将举办2172场高品质文化活动。主会场还将搭建15个直播间，举办线上直播活动107场。
