Despite the relatively late start of China Railway Express compared with other parts of China, Guangdong boasts a favorable geographical position as the major manufacturing province and important sourcing destination. Home appliances, mobile phones, new energy vehicles and goods for cross-border e-commerce manufactured in Guangdong are of high value and fast update speed, deeply affected by people in countries and regions related to China's Belt and Road Initiative.

"We have been doing business in Xinjiang for 20 to 30 years, during which we have established business relations with companies in Central Asia, so it's a natural thing for us to enter the Central Asian market," said Li Tiantao, president of China Rich Crown Holdings.

He noted that the China Railway Express has made it easier for Guangdong's enterprises and goods to enter Central Asia, increasing both speed and efficiency while reducing the overall logistics costs.

He also mentioned that the commodities from Guangdong enjoy a high reputation in Central Asia. Products "made in Guangdong", be they from heavy industry or light industry, are well-known among consumers in Central Asia. With the increase of consumers in Central Asia, the market demand for Guangdong products like furniture, new energy vehicles and household appliances will also increase.

Going forward, Li Tiantao plans to upgrade and rebuild the two shopping centers in Kyrgyzstan into overseas warehouses for Guangdong products, so as to make it easier for "Guangdong's enterprises and goods" to enter the Central Asian market.

"To form rail-sea intermodal transportation for products of ASEAN to enter Central Asia or Europe, Guangdong would be the most expedient choice," Li Tiantao believes that, as Guangdong remains the most convenient hub for the transit trade of ASEAN products, "sea-rail intermodal transportation will be the province's new advantage on the 'New Silk Road 'and will boast broader market channels."

与国内其他地方相比,广东中欧班列虽然起步较晚,却占据了制造大省和重要货源地的“地利”,由广东生产制造的家电、手机、新能源汽车和跨境电商货物,货值高、更新速度快,深受“一带一路”沿线国家和地区人民的喜爱。

“我们在新疆经商了二三十年,之前跟中亚各国企业有业务往来,很自然地就会进入中亚市场。”中裕冠中亚资源集团董事长李天涛说。

他表示,自从有了中欧班列以后,为广东企业、广东商品走进中亚提供了便利,提速增效,降低了整个物流成本。

他说,广东的商品,在中亚地区普遍都比较受欢迎,不管是重工产品还是轻工产品,“广东造”在中亚地区的消费群体里面知名度认知度很高。随着中亚地区消费群体与市场需求增加,对广东家具、新能源车、家用电器等产品需求也将增加。

展望未来,李天涛计划把两座公司在吉尔吉斯斯坦的商贸城升级改造为广东商品海外仓,为“粤企广货”走进中亚,搭建便利。

“东盟产品要进入到中亚或欧洲,形成海铁联运,广东将是最便利的选择。”李天涛认为,广东作为东盟产品转口贸易最便利的地方,“海铁联运”将是广东在“新丝路”上的新优势,将有更广阔的市场渠道。
