"We are delighted to live here. The Chinese people here are very kind to us, and we also like them very much." Ritiz, a Nepalese table tennis player who lives in the FISU Games Village, said happily. Ritiz hangs his ID strap with various badges, including the University of Electronic Science and Technology of China, a map of China, "Rongbao" who plays table tennis, social battery emoticon, etc. There are also three cute little panda dolls lying on the strap.

In the Village, exchanging badges is a way for athletes from different countries and regions to share their feelings. Ritiz said excitedly, "I made many friends here and had a great time. I really like pandas and will go to the Panda Base with my friends tomorrow. Of course, the hot pot in Chengdu must also be tasted! I can’t wait to try these delicious foods."

Located on the campus of Chengdu University, FISU Games Village is built on the base of the construction and transformation of Chengdu University with a total area of about 800,000 square meters and can accommodate 11,000 people. The Village consists of the residential, operation, international and transportation areas which will provide accommodation, catering, fitness, commerce, leisure and entertainment, cultural exchanges, and other services for athletes.

To enrich the leisure life of athletes, during the competition, a series of cultural activities will be launched in the Village every day, such as art carnival evening parties, experience activities of Chinese traditional culture and Chinese intangible cultural heritage, park city art exhibitions, etc. for athletes.

Mariana, a track and field athlete from Portugal, said that this is her first time coming to China. "The environment here is really good, and the people are also very friendly. I can’t wait to see pandas." She also mentioned her experience of traditional Chinese cultural activities in the Village and the opportunity to learn Chinese several times, which is a bit difficult. She has already included learning Chinese in her plan.

"Living in the Village is really comfortable. I met new friends from different countries here. There are many guides and volunteers around us, which is really important. They help us better get used to local life," said Ravan, a badminton player from Azerbaijan. In the interview, he mentioned more than once, "Chinese people are really enthusiastic, and I am really happy to be here. This is really great!"
