On Aug 14th, the 16th Xinjiang Kashi-Central and South Asia Commodity Fair, known as the Kashi fair, officially opened. Guangdong was invited to serve as the first guest province of honor and organized 304 Guangdong companies to participate, with a total exhibition area of more than 1,000 square meters, the largest scale in the fair's history. Notably, more than 60 representatives of entrepreneurs from Hong Kong and Macao made their debut at the fair, injecting new momentum into high-quality industrial cooperation between Guangdong and Xinjiang.
Jumaev Dilovar, a buyer representative from the Chamber of Commerce and Industry of Tajikistan, has given himself a Chinese name, Zhang Wei. Speaking fluent Chinese, he told reporters that this was his first visit to the Kashi fair, but his years of experience attending the Canton Fair had given him a good understanding of the global influence of Guangdong's smart manufacturing, particularly its smart electronic products. He tried on multiple pairs of AI smart glasses and placed an order on the spot.
The Shenzhen Pavilion brought together 42 leading companies and specialized and sophisticated enterprises, including Huawei, BYD, HONOR, DJI, Skyworth and Mindray. The negotiation area of Shenzhen Yiming Electronic Technology Co., Ltd., which was participating in the fair for the first time, was particularly busy. Wen Xin, the company's product director, said that AI wearable products targeting emerging markets in Central and South Asia would be adapted with the languages of the respective countries.
The Small Home Appliances Pavilion brought together 19 Guangdong companies. Ge Yifan, manager of small home appliances at the Urumqi Operations Center of Midea Group, told reporters that foreign buyers had already approached the company for discussions on the first day of the fair, with coffee makers and rice cookers among its key products. Ding Yuewen, head of Bear Electric Appliance's Xinjiang regional operations, said that in response to local and Central Asian specialties such as pilaf and nang flatbread, Bear Electric has introduced rice cookers with capacities ranging from 1.5 to 3 liters that allow consumers to make pilaf at home, catering to the needs of younger consumers.
In addition, the "Guangdong Goods Go Global·Xinjiang Goods Go Beyond the Tianshan Mountains" brand exhibition area features 30 standard booths, focusing on high-tech products, agriculture and cultural tourism, and textiles and apparel to help Guangdong manufacturers expand into new markets in western China. Pakistani buyer Samina was thoroughly enjoying her visit to the fair. She said she had bought many things that were unavailable in Pakistan and praised the scale of the Kashi fair.
