The third Model World Saga was held from July 11th to 12th at the LINGAN Innovation Expo Center in Pazhou, Haizhu District, Guangzhou.

From hobbyists assembling, painting and customizing models, to companies engaging in IP licensing, industrial design, mold development and mass production, and further to AI-powered modeling, 3D printing and smart displays, the seemingly niche model industry is emerging as a new window into the integration of cultural creativity and manufacturing in Guangdong.
Inside the venue, the two floors featured a division of space rich in symbolic meaning. The upper floor primarily showcased competition entries created by hobbyists, while the lower floor brought together companies specializing in models, building blocks, AI-generated 3D content and smart display equipment.
In the past, Chinese hobbyists commonly assembled and customized models based on overseas animation characters. Today, local culture, from figures of the Three Kingdoms period and the Lingnan lion dance to the streets and alleys of Chaoshan, is providing fresh inspiration for model creation.
Deemos Technology (Shanghai) Co., Ltd. presented its flagship AI 3D generation model, Rodin Gen-2.5, which can generate 3D models within seconds. The resulting models can be directly used in collectible figures, designer toys, video games and other applications. InnoYolo, a Shenzhen-based technology company, showcased a smart ecological display system that integrates dynamic screens, temperature and humidity controls, lighting and living plants. Users can change the digital background to place their models in different settings. Compared with displaying models on their own, the digital backdrops and smart equipment create a more immersive viewing experience.
Data show that in 2025, enterprises above the designated size engaged in culture and related industries in Guangdong generated more than 2.7 trillion yuan in operating revenue, up 8.9% year on year, while their total profits rose by 15.0%. New forms of cultural business continued to serve as a powerful growth engine.
