On July 2nd, at the European Inventor Award 2026 ceremony in Berlin, Germany, the team of Yu Haijun and Xie Yinghao from Guangdong Brunp Recycling Technology Co., Ltd. won two top honors, the Non-EPO Countries category and the Popular Prize, with their world-leading innovations in power battery recycling. This historic double win marks the first time a Chinese team has claimed two awards at the same ceremony since the prize was established, and underscores how China's cutting-edge battery recycling technologies are making a tangible impact on global sustainability.

Traditional battery recycling is a passive process—it collects and processes spent batteries only after they reach end of life. Brunp Recycling's reverse product positioning technology, however, requires recycling operations to evolve in lockstep with new product development. As Yu explains, "Today we're recycling products made ten years ago, and we're already anticipating what will be made five years from now." The Brunp R&D team gets involved early in the battery design phase, using theoretical models to provide recommendations on green design, material formulation, and structural optimization.

Compared with traditional industry processes, which typically recover around 80% of metals, Brunp Recycling achieves a comprehensive recovery rate of 99.6% for core metals like nickel, cobalt, and manganese, and a lithium recovery rate of 96.5%, with an average recovery rate nearly 20 percentage points higher than overseas levels.

The Guangdong-Hong Kong-Macao Greater Bay Area serves as the springboard to success for Brunp Recycling. It not only hosts the densest concentration of new energy industrial chain resources in China, but also leverages its international advantage to help Brunp attract top industry talent and provide strong backing for extending its patent portfolio of over 2,300 patents to European and American markets.

全球首次！中国团队拿下“欧洲发明家奖”双料殊荣

7月2日，德国柏林，2026年“欧洲发明家奖”颁奖典礼现场。广东邦普循环科技有限公司的余海军、谢英豪团队凭借全球领先的动力电池回收创新技术，一举斩获“非欧洲专利局成员国奖”与“大众奖”两项大奖。这不仅创下该奖项设立以来首个中国团队同时拿下双料大奖的历史，更标志着中国在新动力电池回收领域的硬核技术正深刻地影响着全球可持续发展进程。

传统电池回收是被动接收报废产品再进行处理，而邦普循环的逆向产品定位技术，要求回收端与新品研发同步迭代。余海军解释道：“10年前的产品今天要回收，5年后的产品我们今天就要预判。”邦普循环的研发团队会超前介入电池的前端设计，通过理论模型反向为电池设计提供“如何进行绿色设计、如何优化材料配方和结构的方案”。

相较于行业传统工艺普遍80%左右的金属回收率，邦普循环的镍、钴、锰等核心金属综合回收率高达99.6%，锂回收率达到96.5%，平均回收率比国外水平高出近20个百分点。
