May 18th marks the 50th International Museum Day. Nearly 80 museums across Guangzhou will join hands to present a cultural feast spanning time and civilizations, featuring major exhibitions, interactive activities and special public benefit packages for visitors.

The event of International Museum Day2026 in Guangzhou will be held at the Museumof the Third National Congress of the Communist Party of China, alongside the official opening of No. 26 of Chunyuan. The opening ceremony will take the form of an immersive theatrical carnival titled "Echoes of Chunyuan". Centered on the history of Chunyuan, the event creatively incorporates elements of Guangzhou history, folk crafts, tea culture, Cantonese Opera, and fragrance art. From the opening ceremony and guided visits to speeches and appreciation sessions, every part of the program will be woven into the theatrical experience, allowing participants to explore the unique charm of Guangzhou's diverse museums through role-playing in a one-stop cultural journey.

During the museum celebration period, many museums in Guangzhou will launch major exhibitions and special events. At the Nanyue King Museum, the second batch of exhibits for "A Gift of the Nile: Ancient Egyptian Artifacts and Digital Art Experience Exhibition" has recently been installed. Guangzhou Museum of Art will present the "One Single Thought: Dunhuang-Grotto Art Grand Exhibition", showcasing seven 1:1 high-precision replica caves and symbolically linking the Maritime Silk Road with the land Silk Road. The Guangzhou Maritime Museum will host "Vitality of Life: China-Africa Cultural and Art Exhibition", focusing on the central region of Sub-Saharan Africa and featuring selected classic Central African artworks from the late 19th century to the early 20th century. Meanwhile, the Guangdong Folk Arts Museum has launched the "DIY Fans: Museum and Cultural Tourism Memories" creative works campaign, turning small folding fans into travel journals for visitors.

广州近80家博物馆联动，文博盛宴即将开启

5月18日是第50个“国际博物馆日”。全市近80家博物馆联动，从重磅大展、体验活动到惠民礼包，为公众奉上一场跨越时空与文化的文博盛宴。

今年国际博物馆日广州主会场活动定于中共三大会址纪念馆举行，同步迎来春园26号的正式开放。启动仪式将以“春园回响”沉浸式剧游嘉年华形式展开。活动以春园历史为主线，巧妙融入广州历史、民间工艺、茶文化、粤剧、香氛艺术等文博元素，从开幕到参观、从致辞到品鉴，所有环节无缝融入剧目，让现场参与者以角色身份，一站式体验广州不同类型博物馆的独特魅力。

博物馆日期间，广州多家博物馆推出重磅大展和精彩活动。其中，南越王博物院“尼罗河的赠礼——古埃及文物与数字艺术体验展”第二批展品日前在博物馆正式布展完成；广州艺术博物院（广州美术馆）“一念敦煌”石窟艺术大展，集中展出7座1:1高精度洞窟复制作品，实现海丝陆丝携手；广州海事博物馆“生生之力——中非文化艺术展”聚焦撒哈拉以南非洲中部地域，甄选19世纪末至20世纪初中非经典艺术藏品；广东民间工艺博物馆推出“DIY扇子·艺述博物馆文旅时光”作品征集，让小小扇面变成游客旅程的“手账”。
