The "Annual Report on Coordinated Development of Guangdong-Hong Kong-Macao Greater Bay Area (2025)" was released on May 13th.

The report notes that the industrial clusters in the Guangdong-Hong Kong-Macao Greater Bay Area(GBA) are at a critical stage of transitioning from scale-driven expansion to quality improvement, and from industrial agglomeration to the reshaping of an innovation ecosystem. The "Manufacturing Bay Area" is evolving into an "Innovation Bay Area," a "Green Bay Area," and a "Digital Bay Area," and a diversified system of emerging industrial clusters has taken shape, represented by artificial intelligence, new energy vehicles, the low-altitude economy, green manufacturing, and the digital economy.

"The GBA boasts 40 industrial divisions, 202 industrial groups, and 614 industrial classes. Industries such as new energy vehicles and smartphones can benefit from fully integrated industrial chains in cities like Guangzhou, Shenzhen, and Dongguan," said Shen Minghao, chief editor of the report and Vice President of Guangdong University of Foreign Studies. "Nowhere else in the world can companies find all the product suppliers they need as quickly as they can here."

Since last year, the GBA has consistently topped the World Intellectual Property Organization's (WIPO) 2025 Global Innovation Index. It leads the world in Patent Cooperation Treaty (PCT) international patents, the number of scientific papers published, and venture capital transactions, demonstrating its sustained leadership in science, technology, and innovation.

The GBA has the highest density of metropolitan areas in the world. Within a 100-kilometer radius, it generates over 14 trillion yuan in GDP and is home to three megacities—Guangzhou, Shenzhen, and Hong Kong—along with Dongguan and Foshan, making it a globally unique region boasting five cities each with a GDP exceeding one trillion yuan.

《粤港澳大湾区协同发展报告（2025）》发布

5月13日，《粤港澳大湾区协同发展报告（2025）》正式发布。

报告指出，粤港澳大湾区产业集群正处于由规模扩张向质量跃升、由产业聚集向创新生态重构的关键阶段。“制造湾区”正在向着“创新湾区”“绿色湾区”“数字湾区”跃升，已形成以人工智能、新能源汽车、低空经济、绿色制造和数字经济为代表的多元化新兴产业集群体系。

“粤港澳大湾区拥有40个工业大类、202个工业中类和614个工业小类。新能源汽车、智能手机等产业在广州、深圳、东莞等地可以实现100%的产业链配套。”报告主编、广东外语外贸大学副校长申明浩表示，“在这里，企业能够以最短的时间找到所有产品供应商，这是全世界任何其他地方都无法实现的。”

自去年起，粤港澳大湾区在世界知识产权组织发布的全球创新集群排名中位列第一，在PCT国际专利、科技论文发表数量、风险投资交易量三个维度上都处于全球领先地位，科创引领力持续凸显。

粤港澳大湾区是全球都市圈密度最高的区域，在100公里半径内，集聚了超过14万亿元的GDP，拥有广州、深圳、香港三个超大型都市，再加上东莞和佛山，共有五个GDP超万亿元人民币的城市，这在全世界也是绝无仅有的。
