At 7:00 AM on December 21st, the highly anticipated 2025 Guangzhou Marathon kicked off at Tianhe Sports Center, illuminated by the sunrise in Lingnan. A total of 26,000 runners embarked on their journey along the classic "One River, Two Banks" route, forging ahead with determination to explore the profound heritage and vibrant vitality of the Guangdong-Hong Kong-Macao Greater Bay Area (GBA) through running.

After intense competition, Afewerk Mesfin Woldetensae from Ethiopia clinched the men's championship with a time of 2 hours, 12 minutes, and 23 seconds. Chinese runner Zhaxi Ciren secured third place overall and first place among domestic male runners with a time of 2 hours, 14 minutes, and 6 seconds. In the women's category, Ethiopian runners swept the top three positions, with Joyce Chepkemoi Tele taking the championship in 2 hours, 22 minutes, and 40 seconds, setting a new event record.

The organizing committee ensured runners' safety with scientific decision-making and people-oriented services. For the first time, clear indicators for shaded sections were marked on the race map, providing advanced guidance to runners. Additional cooling measures were implemented, including spray facilities, mist cannons, extra cooling sponges, and ice supplies. Wet Bulb Globe Temperature (WBGT) monitoring systems were deployed at key segments to assess heat stress on athletes, offering precise guidance on their physical condition. Real-time meteorological data was also released to help runners adjust their pacing and supply strategies scientifically.

The organizing committee integrated environmental protection concepts throughout the event process, introducing a series of innovative measures this year. A pioneering "No Clothing Storage" option was rolled out to encourage runners to participate in the marathon's green initiative. Runners were encouraged to bring old clothing for warmth, reducing the use of disposable raincoats, and designated recycling zones for old clothing were set up at the starting assembly area and along the route after the start. Additionally, new volunteer positions were added to be responsible for waste sorting and material recycling during the event, safeguarding the clean and beautiful racecourse through meticulous services.

活力湾区奔跑广马，2025广州马拉松赛圆满举办

12月21日7时，天河体育中心万众瞩目，2025广州马拉松赛迎着岭南晨光鸣枪启航。26000名跑者追光而行，沿“一江两岸”的经典赛道奋勇向前，以奔跑为径探知粤港澳大湾区的深厚底蕴与蓬勃生机。

经过激烈角逐，来自埃塞俄比亚的选手阿费沃克·梅斯芬·沃尔德腾萨耶以2小时12分23秒的成绩夺得男子组冠军。中国选手扎西次仁以2小时14分06秒的成绩收获季军以及国内男子组第一名。女子组方面，前三名均归属埃塞俄比亚选手，乔伊斯・切普凯莫伊以2小时22分40秒的成绩夺得女子组冠军，并打破赛会纪录。

组委会以科学决策与人性化服务为选手保驾护航：在今年广马赛道图上首次标注清晰的林荫路段指示标识，提前向选手提示遮蔽路段；增设喷淋设施和雾炮车，增加降温海绵和冰块的补给；在多个重点赛段布设WBGT湿球黑球温度预警系统，评估竞赛环境对运动员的热负荷，为选手提供更精准的参赛状态提示；实时发布气象数据，帮助运动员科学调整配速与补给策略。

广马组委会将环保理念贯穿赛事全流程，今年推出了一系列创新举措：首次创新推出“不存衣”参赛方式，号召广大跑者参与广马绿色行动；号召选手自备旧衣保暖、减少雨衣使用，并在起点集结区和出发后增设旧衣回收区；新增环保志愿者岗位，负责赛事垃圾分类、物资回收等工作，用细致服务守护美丽赛道等等。
