One in every three industrial robots in China is made in Guangdong, and the rise of "Guangdong's Seven Robotics Titans" has placed Dongguan's industrial robotics industry in the spotlight. Currently, Dongguan is home to 208 key robotics manufacturing enterprises, including 147 enterprises above designated size, with an annual revenue of approximately 31.6 billion yuan. In 2024, the city's industrial robot production reached 22,900 units, marking a 21.7% increase.

Guangdong Topstar Technology Co., Ltd. production workshop

As one of the "Seven Titans," Guangdong Topstar Technology Co., Ltd. is intensively testing its intelligent robot control platform X5, empowered by embodied AI models for real-time decision-making. "This year, our new 200-acre production base will be fully operational, with an annual capacity exceeding 60,000 units at full production," said Chairman Wu Fengli. Known as the versatile player in high-end intelligent equipment, Topstar focuses on industrial robots, injection molding machines, and Computer Numerical Control (CNC) machine tools, making it one of the few Chinese companies with a comprehensive product lineup.

Guangdong Dingtai Robot Technology Co., Ltd. has developed a "four-station PCB micro-drilling tools" that fills a technological gapin China, helping its parent company, Dingtai Hi-Tech, capture a 26.5% share of the global drill bit market. Meanwhile, Moxian Technology (Dongguan) Co., Ltd., based in Songshan Lake, has equipped robots with "bionic tactile sensors" through its electronic skin technology. This innovation enables robotic hands to achieve high-density tactile sensing, driving a tenfold year-on-year surge in orders.

Dongguan's robotics manufacturing industry now generates over 31.6 billion yuan in annual revenue, fostering six provincial-level "single-item champion enterprises," three national-level "little giant" enterprises, and 13 provincial-level specialized and sophisticated enterprises that produce new and unique products. "Expanding and strengthening the industrial robotics sector is key to Dongguan's intelligent manufacturing strategy," said an official from the Dongguan Industrial and Information Technology Bureau. Looking forward, Dongguan plans to accelerate AI-driven manufacturing innovation, expand robotics applications in industrial production, and further scale up its robotics industry.
