Starting from December 4th, the "2024 Shantou International Wind Power Technology Innovation Conference" grandly opened, lasting for three days, with over 600 participants from more than 20 countries and regions gathering in Shantou. The conference delves into various topics in the wind power field, focusing on the trends of the offshore wind power industry, and promoting global wind power technology exchange and cooperation. Shantou has been hosting this offshore wind power event for the second consecutive year.

Shantou possesses unique advantages and a solid foundation for the development of offshore wind power. Located on the coast of the South China Sea, it boasts abundant wind resources and serves as the main base for the offshore wind power in the eastern part of Guangdong. As early as 1987, the first wind turbine was put into operation on Nan'ao Island, making it one of the birthplaces of wind power in China. After years of development, Shantou has a profound technical and industrial foundation, which is further supported by favorable policies, aiding in the construction of Shantou as an international wind power innovation port. 

In recent years, Shantou has been planning a 4,200-mu offshore wind power advanced equipment manufacturing industrial park in Haojiang District, and a 1,000-mu marine engineering equipment manufacturing industrial park. Recently, the construction of three 20,000-ton wind power docks in the third phase of the Guang'ao Port area of Shantou Port has commenced. The industrial pattern of "front port, middle park, and back city" is becoming increasingly refined, making it a typical sample of a world-class industrial cluster.

Shantou is a well-known hometown for overseas Chinese, rich in resources of overseas Chinese capital and strength. At the same time, as a first-class national port, Shantou has trade relations with 268 cities in 57 countries and regions worldwide, combining with the former to give Shantou a global cultural gene and transportation advantage. In recent years, with the construction of the international wind power innovation port, Shantou has attracted overseas Chinese capital and intelligence, drawing the attention of domestic and international wind power, and promoting high-quality industrial development.

Thanks to these factors, this conference has attracted representatives from all over the world to participate enthusiastically. Numerous experts from organizations such as the Global Wind Energy Council, scientific research institutes, universities, and chambers of commerce from various countries will bring exciting speeches or send representatives to attend. They will discuss global wind power hotspots from an international perspective, adding further impetus to the development of wind power in Shantou and around the world, and continuously enhancing its influence in the global wind power field.

海上风电盛会为何再度落户汕头？

自12月4日起，“2024汕头国际风电技术创新大会”盛大开幕，为期三天，全球20多个国家和地区的600余名各界人士齐聚汕头。大会围绕风电多领域议题深入探讨，聚焦海上风电产业走势，促进全球风电技术交流合作。汕头已是连续第二年举办此海上风电盛会。

汕头具有发展海上风电得天独厚的优势和基础，地处南海之滨，风力资源充沛，是粤东海上风电基地主阵地，且早在1987年南澳岛就投运首台风电机组，堪称中国风电发源地之一。经多年发展，技术与产业基础深厚，又逢政策大力支持，助力汕头国际风电创新港建设。

近年来，汕头在濠江区规划建设4200亩的海上风电先进装备制造产业园区，规划海工装备制造产业园区1000亩，近期开工建设汕头港广澳港区三期工程3个2万吨风电码头，“前港中园后城”的产业格局日趋完善，一跃成为世界级产业集群典型样本。

汕头是全国著名侨乡，侨资侨力资源丰富。与此同时，汕头港作为国家一类口岸，与全球57个国家和地区的268个城市有贸易往来，与前者的结合，使汕头一直具有面向全球的文化基因与交通优势。近年借国际风电创新港建设，引侨资侨智，吸引国内外风电目光，推动产业高质量发展。

得益于此，本届大会吸引全球多方代表踊跃参与，全球风能理事会等科研院所、高校组织及各国商会的众多专家将带来精彩演讲或派员出席，以国际视角探讨全球风电热点，为汕头乃至全球风电产业发展再添助力，使其在全球风电领域的影响力不断攀升。
