The 2024 Summit of the Forum on China-Africa Cooperation (FOCAC) will be held in Beijing from September 4^th to 6^th. On August 20^th, the State Council Information Office held a press conference about the event. 

Since 2021, China and Africa have jointly implemented the "Nine Programs ." Liu Junfeng, Vice-Chairman of the China International Development Cooperation Agency (CIDCA) , stated that all aid and development cooperation projects under the "Nine Programs" have been fully implemented. These efforts have actively contributed to supporting economic and social development in Africa, significantly promoting the development of China-Africa relations.

As of the end of 2023, data shows that China's investment stock in Africa has exceeded 40 billion dollars, making it one of the continent's largest investors. Over the past three years, Chinese enterprises have created over 1.1 million jobs locally. Economic and trade cooperation zones established through these investments cover sectors such as agriculture, manufacturing, and logistics, attracting over a thousand enterprises to the zones. This has significantly contributed to the local tax revenue and foreign exchange earnings through exports.

Tang Wenhong, Assistant Minister of Commerce, stated that under the strategic guidance of the leaders of China and Africa , various Chinese departments, localities, and enterprises have continued to deepen communication and cooperation, leading to fruitful achievements in China-Africa economic and trade cooperation, with bilateral trade reaching new heights. In 2023, the trade volume between China and Africa reached 282.1 billion dollars, marking an almost 11% increase compared to 2021 and setting a new historical peak for the second consecutive year. Trade between China and nearly half of the African countries saw double-digit year-on-year growth rates.

As a key supporting event of the 2024 FOCAC Summit, the 8th Conference of Chinese and African entrepreneurs will be held in Beijing during the summit. Shen Xiang, Director General of the Department of Western Asian and African Affairs at the Ministry of Commerce , introduced that this conference will highlight the theme of "Joining Hands to Advance Modernization and Build a High-Level China-Africa Community with a Shared Future. " It aims to encourage communication and consensus-building among Chinese and African business communities, promote new practical cooperation initiatives, foster a friendly atmosphere for mutually beneficial cooperation, enhance the summit's influence, and drive high-quality development of China-Africa economic and trade cooperation.

"Next, China will prioritize the implementation of new initiatives from the Summit of the Forum on China-Africa Cooperation. Working closely with African partners, we aim to enhance the high-quality development of China-Africa economic and trade cooperation, providing stronger support for the economic and social development of China and African countries," stated Tang Wenhong.

2024年中非合作论坛峰会9月4日至6日在京举行

2024年中非合作论坛峰会将于9月4日至6日在北京举行。8月20日，国务院新闻办公室举行新闻发布会介绍有关情况。

中非从2021年起共同实施“九项工程”。国家国际发展合作署副署长刘俊峰表示，目前，“九项工程”项下对非援助和发展合作项目已全部落实，为支持非洲经济社会发展作出积极贡献，有力促进中非关系发展。

数据显示，截至2023年年底，中国对非直接投资存量超过400亿美元，是非洲最主要的外资来源国之一。过去三年，中国企业为当地创造超过110万个就业岗位，投资建设的经贸合作区覆盖农业、加工制造、商贸物流等行业，吸引超过千家企业入区，为当地纳税增收、出口创汇作出重要贡献。

商务部部长助理唐文弘表示，在中非双方元首战略引领下，中方各部门、各地方、各企业持续深化沟通与合作，推动中非经贸合作取得了丰硕成果，中非贸易规模屡创新高。2023年，中非贸易额达2821亿美元，与2021年相比增长了近11%，连续第二年刷新历史峰值。中国与近半数非洲国家贸易额同比增幅超过两位数。

作为2024年中非合作论坛峰会重要配套活动，第八届中非企业家大会将于峰会期间在北京举行。商务部西亚非洲司司长沈翔介绍，本届企业家大会将突出峰会“携手推进现代化、共筑高水平中非命运共同体”的主题，鼓励中非工商界沟通交流、凝聚共识，推动中非务实合作新举措落地，营造中非工商界互利合作的友好氛围，进一步扩大峰会影响，推动中非经贸合作高质量发展。

“下一步，中方将以落实中非合作论坛峰会新举措为主线，与非方同心协力，推动中非经贸合作高质量发展，为促进中国和非洲国家经济社会发展提供更有力的支撑。”唐文弘说。
