The 17^th Paralympic Games will be held in Paris, France, from August 28^th to September 8^th, 2024. To inspire the athletes with disabilities who are about to participate in the Paralympics, the Guangdong Disabled Persons' Federation and Guangzhou Disabled Persons' Federation held a send-off ceremony on August 16th at the Guangzhou Disabled Persons Sports Center for some of the athletes who will be participating in the Paris Paralympics.

It is reported that 32 athletes, 6 coaches, and 12 staff members (including 2 guides) from Guangdong Province will participate in this Paris Paralympics. They will compete in 11 sports and 47 events, including athletics, swimming, cycling, table tennis, badminton, powerlifting, archery , boccia, blind judo, blind football, and wheelchair basketball.

In total, 13 individuals from Guangzhou have been selected for the Chinese sports delegation to the Paris Paralympics, including 9 athletes, 2 coaches, a team leader, and a staff member. The 9 athletes from Guangzhou are Lin Suiling, Zhang Xuemei, Huang Xiaolian, Zhang Meimei, Chen Jingwen, Mai Jianpeng, Yang Jianyuan, Zheng Yuansen, and Lin Ximei. They will take part in the wheelchair basketball, badminton, and boccia matches.

On the same day, the members from the Guangdong Disabled Persons' Federation and Guangzhou Disabled Persons' Federation observed the national boccia team's training at the Guangzhou Disabled Persons Sports Center. They communicated with the athletes and coaches. Chen Xuejun, Party Secretary and Chairman of the Guangdong Disabled Persons' Federation, praised the preparation done by the Guangzhou Disabled Persons Sports Center. He expressed gratitude to the dedicated coaching team and logistics support team and extended his best wishes to the athletes. He hoped that the athletes would display the spirit of tenacity, courage, self-improvement, and fearlessness in the face of challenges at the Paris Paralympics, competing with merits and professionalism, bringing honor to the country and their hometowns.

9名广州籍运动员出征巴黎残奥会

第17届夏季残疾人奥林匹克运动会将于2024年8月28日至9月8日在法国巴黎举行。为激励即将出征巴黎残奥会的残疾人体育健儿，8月16日，广东省残联、广州市残联在广州市残疾人体育运动中心为即将参加巴黎残奥会的部分在穗运动员举行慰问欢送活动。

据悉，广东省共有32名运动员、6名教练员、12名工作人员（含2名领跑员）参加此次巴黎残奥会，分别参加田径、游泳、自行车、乒乓球、羽毛球、举重、射箭、硬地滚球、盲人柔道、盲人足球、轮椅篮球等11个大项47个小项。

广州市共有13人入选巴黎残奥会中国体育代表团，其中运动员9名，教练2名，领队1名，工作人员1名。这9名广州籍运动员分别是林穗玲、张雪梅、黄晓连、张美美、陈静雯、麦建朋、杨建远、郑远森、林细妹，他们将参加轮椅篮球、羽毛球、硬地滚球这三个项目比赛。

当天，广东省残联、广州市残联一行在广州市残疾人体育运动中心观摩了国家硬地滚球队的训练，与运动员和教练员进行了亲切交流。广东省残联党组书记、理事长陈学军对广州市残疾人体育运动中心的备战工作表示充分肯定，对无私奉献的教练员团队、后勤保障团队表示感谢，对即将出征的运动员们送上最美好的祝愿。他表示，希望运动员们在巴黎残奥会赛场上发扬顽强拼搏、奋勇争先、超越自我的精神，不畏强手，敢于挑战，赛出风格，赛出水平，为祖国争光，为省市添彩。
