On the evening of August 10th, the "Youthful Health Trends, TCM in a New Light" TCM cultural fair made its grand debut in the Guanxiangyin Alley of Nancheng, Dongguan City, Guangdong Province. Citizens eagerly embarked on an immersive journey, experiencing the profound allure of TCM's ancient heritage firsthand.

One-stop health and wellness experience

From identifying one's body constitution to sipping on herbal teas, sampling medicinal delicacies, indulging in healthful snacks, receiving therapeutic treatments, and consulting with esteemed TCM doctors, the scene was filled with the delicate fragrance of traditional Chinese medicine, cups of herbal tea, a variety of pastries, and distinctive Chinese medical therapies, captivating the hearts of the citizens and visitors.

Here, the scent of traditional Chinese herbs has taken the place of the aroma of barbecue, and herbal teas have replaced milk tea and fruit juices. The fusion of traditional Chinese medicine with gourmet food has created a lively "vibrant atmosphere," drawing in a continuous stream of young people to stop and make their selections. "Taking a sip of the sour and sweet Wumei Chenpi drink (made from smoked plum and dried tangerine peel), it feels particularly thirst-quenching and healthy," 23-year-old Xiao Chen said, tasting various TCM herbal teas with great interest. Lotus leaf malt tea, skin-soothing anti-itch drink, loquat acne-clearing drink, and whitening freckle-reducing drink each have their unique flavors and health benefits.

It is reported that this night market also set up a TCM-suitable technology experience area and a wellness experience area, providing citizens with experience projects such as sports rehabilitation therapy, shoulder and neck acupuncture and massage, acupoint plastering, as well as health activities like scent identification of herbs, skillful incense making, and handcrafting tea blends.

Renowned provincial TCM doctors lead free medical consultations

To enhance health services, the night market's renowned doctor consultation area was graced by the presence of esteemed TCM doctors from Guangdong Province, including Ye Xiaohan, Dong Mingguo, and Xue Aiguo, covering disciplines such as disease prevention, TCM internal medicine, TCM cosmetic medicine, and Orthopaedic trauma, offering free pulse diagnosis, health preservation, and disease prevention consultation services to the public.

"I've seen the red dots on athletes' backs at this year's Paris Olympics and heard them referred to as the 'mysterious Eastern power', which piqued my curiosity," shared David, a Brazilian visitor, as he sat perspiring on a stool, receiving a Bianshi moxibustion treatment from the medical staff. The treatment left red cupping marks on his neck and shoulders. He told the reporter that a friend specially brought him here to experience the charm of TCM, and this was his first time trying cupping therapy. After the treatment, he felt much more relaxed in his shoulders and said he would definitely recommend the "magical" TCM massage to his family and friends.

At the night market, the fusion of traditional TCM consultations and cutting-edge TCM AI technology was on full display. A meridian diagnostic device captivated the younger audience, allowing them to effortlessly determine their body constitution by simply placing their palm on the device. The device's ability to capture tongue, facial, and pulse diagnostics showcased the innovative side of TCM.

Dongguan City has been making significant strides in the TCM, integrating its innovative applications into everyday life. With 50 TCM halls and 37 TCM pavilions established across community health institutions and comprehensive hospitals in various towns and streets, residents can now access TCM services within a 15-minute walk. Dongguan is set to host more cultural events, aiming to bring the "Neo-Chinese style" into the lives of its citizens.

东莞市首个中医药文化夜市火爆“开市”

中医药文化夜市，你逛过吗？8月10日晚，“青年养生潮，中医不一YOUNG”中医药文化潮集在东莞南城莞香印巷正式亮相，市民纷纷开启了沉浸式游园模式，近距离感受源远流长的中医药文化魅力。

养生局一站式开启

辨体质、喝茶饮、品药膳、吃糕点、做理疗、看名医……现场，一缕缕中药香、一杯杯茶饮、一款款糕点、一项项中医特色疗法吸引了广大市民游客。

在这里，中药香代替烧烤香，中药茶饮代替奶茶果汁，中医药与美食碰撞出“烟火气”，吸引一拨又一拨年轻人驻足选购。“喝上一口酸酸甜甜的乌梅陈皮饮，感觉特别解渴，又很健康。”今年23岁的小陈在摊位前，饶有兴趣地品鉴各式各样的中医药茶饮。荷叶麦芽茶、肤舒止痒饮、枇杷祛痘饮、美白淡斑饮等茶饮和药膳各具特色口味与功效。

据悉，本次夜市还设置了中医适宜技术体验区和养生体验区，为市民提供了运动康复理疗、肩颈针灸推拿、穴位贴敷等体验项目，以及闻香识药、巧手制香、手工配茶等养生活动。

省名中医领衔义诊

为了提供更好的健康服务，本次夜市的名医义诊区特别安排了广东省名中医叶小汉、董明国、薛爱国等名医团队，涵盖治未病科、中医内科、中医美容科、骨伤科等学科，为来往市民免费提供脉诊辨证、养生防病知识咨询等服务。

“我在今年巴黎奥运会上看到，很多运动员的背上都有这些红点，有人说这是‘神秘的东方力量’，所以我一直挺好奇的。”巴西友人David脸上挂着汗珠，坐在摊位前的凳子上，医护人员正在为其肩颈部位进行砭石艾灸治疗，刮出一道道红痧。他告诉记者，这是朋友特意带他过来感受中医文化的魅力，也是他第一次体验刮痧治疗。治疗后，他感到肩膀轻松了很多，并表示回去后一定会把“神奇”的中医推拿推荐给家人朋友。

一边是传统名中医义诊，一边是新时代的中医AI技术。夜市现场，一台经络四诊仪引来不少年轻人打卡。手掌轻轻一放，就能轻松“解锁”自己的体质，舌象、面象、脉象均可借助仪器轻松采集，充分展现了中医黑科技的魅力。

近年来，东莞市在中医药领域持续发力，中医药的创新应用已经渗透到生活的方方面面。全市社卫机构和镇街综合医院共建成中医馆50个、中医阁37个，在东莞的各个镇街，实现了步行15分钟就可以享受到中医药服务。接下来，东莞将举办更多文化系列活动，让“新中式”走进更多东莞人的生活中。
