On June 30^th, the Shenzhen-Zhongshan Link , a world-class engineering marvel spanning the eastern and western banks of the Pearl River Estuary, celebrated its first month of operation with a remarkable traffic volume of over three million. Nestled at the heart of the A-shaped golden inner bay , this vital artery stands as the sole direct road connection between the "Shenzhen-Dongguan-Huizhou" urban cluster on the east bank and the "Zhuhai-Zhongshan-Jiangmen" cluster on the west bank.

As a vital transportation hub, the Link has seen sustained high traffic volumes since its opening, fueled by the summer travel rush and the widespread public interest in this landmark, quickly becoming the "top tourist destination" in the Bay Area.

Data shows that the Link's total traffic volume in its inaugural month has surpassed three million vehicle trips, with peak hourly traffic exceeding 8,000 vehicles, of which passenger cars account for approximately 93%. During the weekdays, traffic has maintained a steady and organized pace, while weekends have witnessed a 30% surge in traffic volume, occasionally leading to periods of slower movement. Traffic peaks have been identified during the hours of 11 am to 12 pm and from 4 pm to 5 pm. It is anticipated that the traffic will gradually return to normal levels, as the summer vacation concludes and the public becomes more familiar with the Link's routes.

The immediate impact of the Link's opening is most pronounced in the cultural and catering sectors. For instance, the Zhongshan Museum has reported a significant increase in visitors compared to the same period last year, and the catering industry in Yakou Village in Nanlang District is flourishing. Chen Xiujuan from the Zhongshan Women's Federation shared, "My husband works in Shenzhen and used to come back only on weekends. Now, he can commute every day by taking the Shenzhen-Zhongshan bus for only 18 yuan, which is incredibly convenient."

Bearing nearly a quarter of all cross-Estuary traffic, the Shenzhen-Zhongshan Link faces significant pressure to ensure safety and maintain smooth traffic. The Link's traffic management center, in collaboration with road administration departments and traffic police from Shenzhen and Zhongshan, along with adjacent road sections, has established a robust multi-agency coordination mechanism. Huang Xiaohong, the head of the road asset management department at the Shenzhen-Zhongshan Link Management Center, stated, "We have strategically placed six emergency response stations along the route, with road administration personnel conducting round-the-clock patrols, and in conjunction with traffic police and rescue units on the west artificial island , we are prepared to swiftly manage any traffic-related incidents." He also noted that in times of heavy traffic, a suite of traffic management strategies is employed, including remote diversion, controlled release of traffic, and optimized lane usage, to ensure the smooth and safe passage of vehicles.

深中通道开通首月车流量破300万车次

6月30日，深中通道已开通一个月，这座横跨珠江口东西两岸的世界级工程，首月以来车流总量超300万车次。它屹立于珠江口“A”字形的黄金内湾中间，是当前珠江东岸“深莞惠”与西岸“珠中江”两大城市群的唯一公路直连通道。

深中通道作为交通枢纽，叠加暑假出游、群众打卡体验热情高涨等因素，通车后车流量始终保持高位运行，成为“湾区新顶流”。

据监测数据显示，开通首月以来车流总量超300万车次，单小时最高峰超过了8000车次，其中客车占比约93%；工作日期间全线车流总体平稳有序，周末期间车流量增幅约30%，部分时段出现车流缓行现象。从车流时段分析，车流高峰主要出现在上午11-12时，下午4-5时。预计暑假结束，以及人们逐渐熟悉和适应深中通道通行线路后，车流会逐步回归正常水平。

据了解，文旅业、餐饮业受深中通道开通的影响首先显现。如中山博物馆参访人数较去年同期有较大幅度上升，南朗崖口村餐饮业全面飘红。中山市妇联的陈秀娟说：“我老公在深圳上班，以往周末才能回来。现在他每天坐18元的深中公交通勤，非常方便。”

目前，深中通道承担了跨珠江口总车流量的约四分之一，保安全、保畅通压力巨大。深中通道路网调度中心、路政部门与深圳、中山两地交警部门及相邻路段建立起多方联动机制，保障通道安全畅通。“我们在全线设置了6个应急驻勤点，路政人员24小时巡查，并与交警、拯救单位等在西人工岛联合指挥、多部门联动，确保及时处置各类突发事件。”深中通道管理中心路产管理部部长黄晓红介绍，当道路出现车流量较大的情况，还会通过采取远端导流、滴水式放行，近端优化车道、交替通行等措施，疏导车流，保障安全畅通。
