As the Olympic Games Paris 2024 draw near, the Chinese sports delegation is arriving in Paris in batches. On the 18th, the Olympic Village was officially opened. The building designated for the Chinese delegation is a vibrant display of national pride, adorned with the flag of China, traditional Chinese knots, and banners that exclaim "Go China!". An endearing mural of a giant panda also graces the building's exterior, adding a distinctive Chinese touch that captures the attention of all.

Nestled in the north of Paris, the Olympic Village spans approximately 52 hectares and has been meticulously built over nearly three years. It is poised to host an estimated 14,000 athletes and staff during the Olympics and approximately 9,000 during the Paralympics. Among them, 405 Chinese athletes, with an average age of 25, will reside in this Village.

The village's construction embodies the principles of sustainability and environmental consciousness. The organizing committee strategically selected a cluster of buildings available for renovation, including restaurants, training rooms, and clinics, which were all transformed from existing local buildings. The 24-hour restaurant, once a bustling film studio known as "Cité du Cinéma," now boasts 3,200 seats. Chefs will craft a daily menu of 500 dishes, preparing over 40,000 meals across six areas: two international cuisines, two French cuisines, one Asian cuisine, and one African and Caribbean cuisine. Additionally, food carts offering sandwiches, snacks, and beverages are available throughout the village.

The Olympic Village comprises 2,800 apartments, each designed to house four to eight athletes, complete with shared bathrooms and communal living areas. In keeping with the green ethos, the 14,250 beds in the apartments are made of recyclable materials similar to those used in the Tokyo Olympics. The bed frames are assembled from cardboard, and the three mattresses are made from fishing nets. After the competition, 345,000 pieces of furniture in the village will be reused through sales to the second-hand market and donations.

As for the much-discussed "no air conditioning" issue, it also stems from the environmental sustainability concept. The Paris Olympic Organizing Committee plans to use a water-cooling system in the apartments. This system will circulate water cooled to four degrees Celsius, drawn from a 70-meter-deep well near a power plant, through pipes beneath the apartment floors, reducing indoor temperatures by six to ten degrees Celsius compared to the outdoors.

In addition, solar panels cover one-third of the village's rooftops, while another third is dedicated to gardens, aiming to reduce indoor temperatures. Strategic openings between buildings create wind tunnels that channel fresh air from the Seine River into the village. Despite these innovative measures, many delegations have brought their own air conditioners, indicating a lack of confidence in the water-cooling system.

It is understood that the logistics team of the Chinese delegation has already arrived and has brought portable air conditioners. The swimming team has even brought their own mattresses. Additionally, a team of Sichuan chefs has arrived in Paris, ready to serve authentic regional cuisine to the hardworking athletes.

巴黎奥运村开村，五星红旗村内飘扬，大熊猫也来了

2024巴黎奥运会进入倒计时，中国体育代表团各运动队分批抵达巴黎。18日，奥运村正式开村。中国体育代表团所在的住宿楼已经挂满了五星红旗、中国结和“加油！中国”的横幅，还有一只憨态可掬的大熊猫画像出现在大楼外侧，中国元素满满，夺人眼球。

巴黎奥运村位于巴黎北部，占地约52公顷，经过近三年建设落成，预计在奥运会期间接待约14000名运动员和工作人员，残奥会期间将接待约9000名运动员和工作人员，预计将有405名中国运动员入住奥运村，中国运动员平均年龄为25岁。

此次奥运村选址体现了可持续和绿色环保的理念，组委会特意选择有大量可供改造的建筑群，比如餐厅、训练室、诊所等都是由当地已有建筑改造而来。24小时营业的餐厅前身是影视工厂“电影城”，改造后的这家餐厅拥有3200个座位，每天厨师将设计500道菜，准备超过4万份餐食。据透露，美食将分为六个菜系区域，各有两个国际美食和法国美食区域，还有一个亚洲美食区域以及非洲和加勒比美食区域。除此之外，奥运村内还提供三明治、小吃、饮料的餐车。

其次，奥运村内一共有2800套公寓，每套可容纳4至8名运动员，配有共享浴室和公共生活空间。从绿色环保角度考虑，公寓内的14250张床，均采用与东京奥运会时类似的可回收材料，床身由纸板组装而成，三块床垫则是由渔网制成。赛事结束以后村内345000件家具将通过出售到二手市场、捐赠等形式重新利用。

至于备受吐槽的“无空调”配置问题，也源于这个“绿色环保”理念。巴黎奥组委设想在公寓内使用地热冷却系统，从附近的发电厂地下70米深的井中获取冷却至4摄氏度的水，将其输送到奥运村每间公寓地板下的管道中，这些冷水应该能够使建筑物的温度比室外温度低6到10摄氏度。

除此之外，奥运村内三分之一的屋顶都装有太阳能电池板，另外三分之一的屋顶设有花园，旨在降低室内温度。建筑物之间还留有通向塞纳河的开口，以此形成风洞，将塞纳河附近的新鲜空气尽可能地输送到奥运村内。不过从目前不少代表团均携带空调入驻的事实来看，大家对巴黎奥组委的这套地热冷却系统并不信任。

据了解，中国代表团的后勤部队已经进驻，且携带了移动空调，据报道，游泳队甚至还携带了床垫。有消息至，一批川菜师傅也已抵达巴黎，为即将在巴黎奥运会上奋力拼搏的中国运动员们提供地道的川菜。
