According to the 7-day monitoring data from the Shenzhen-Zhongshan Link Management Center, as of 3:00 PM that day, during the first week since the opening of the Shenzhen-Zhongshan Link (from June 30th, 3:00 PM to July 7th, 3:00 PM), the total traffic volume exceeded 720,000 vehicles with the average daily traffic volume of over 100,000 vehicles.
The Shenzhen-Zhongshan Link opened to traffic at 3:00 PM on June 30th, reducing the travel time between Shenzhen and Zhongshan from about 2 hours to within 30 minutes. Around 7:30 PM on July 7th, reporters checked electronic navigation software and found that driving from Zhongshan Cuiheng East Toll Station to Shenzhen Bao'an International Airport via the Shenzhen-Zhongshan Link took nearly an hour due to a 13-kilometer traffic jam. Conversely, driving from Shenzhen Bao'an International Airport to Zhongshan Cuiheng East Toll Station via the Link took 53 minutes.
After the opening of the Shenzhen-Zhongshan Link, mainland social media platforms have seen numerous "guides" for traveling to Zhongshan. This weekend, many popular restaurants and tourist attractions in Zhongshan have been bustling with a continuous stream of visitors. Some netizens mentioned that dining places and tourist spots in Zhongshan are flourishing; for instance, on July 6th, they waited for an hour and a half just to have lunch at a restaurant.
In the first week following the opening of the Shenzhen-Zhongshan Link, large numbers of residents from cities like Shenzhen and Hong Kong on the east bank of the Pearl River Delta have been taking the Shenzhen-Zhongshan cross-city buses to travel to Zhongshan for tourism. According to the mini-program of "Shenzhen-Zhongshan Cross-City Bus Special Line", all bus tickets from Shenzhen to Zhongshan on July 6th and 7th were sold out. By 4:00 PM on the 6th, Shenzhen had already dispatched more than 10 emergency buses to meet the strong demand of travelling from Shenzhen to Zhongshan.
The Zhanyuan and Dajian Mountain Camping Park in Zhongshan are experiencing large crowds. Specifically, visitors at Dajian Mountain Camping Park have doubled compared to usual, with 15% of visitors coming from Shenzhen and 10% from Macao. To better receive this influx, local authorities have organized various cultural and tourism activities to boost consumption, such as hosting a pop music week and a cultural and tourism food carnival.
"At present, the main reasons for the heavy traffic are attributed to summer vacations, homecoming trips, and the initial popularity of the Shenzhen-Zhongshan Link itself during the first weekend of operation. As people become more familiar with and accustomed to the route of the Shenzhen-Zhongshan Link, it is expected that traffic flow will gradually return to normal levels," stated a person in charge from the Shenzhen-Zhongshan Link Management Center.
The person in charge explained that according to the statistics from the first week, during weekdays, the peak hours for traffic on the Shenzhen-Zhongshan Link are from 10:00 AM to 12:00 PM and from 3:00 PM to 5:00 PM. During these peak hours, there are approximately 7,000 vehicle trips per hour. They advised the public to consider traveling during off-peak times.

深中通道开通首周车流量超72万车次
根据深中通道管理中心7日监测数据显示,截至当天15时,深中通道开通后首周(6月30日15时至7月7日15时)总车流量超过72万车次,日均车流量超10万车次。
深中通道于6月30日15时通车,深圳至中山的车程从原本的约2小时缩短至30分钟内。7月7日19时30分许,记者通过查询电子导航软件获悉,通过深中通道驾车从中山翠亨东收费站前往深圳宝安国际机场方向全程需要近一小时,路上有一段13公里的拥堵车龙;通过深中通道驾车从深圳宝安国际机场到中山翠亨东收费站方向需要53分钟。
深中通道通车后,内地社交平台出现很多中山旅游的“攻略”。这个周末,中山多个网红餐厅和旅游景点火爆,往来游客络绎不绝。有网友表示,中山的食肆和旅游景点兴旺,6日中午到饭店,等了一个半小时才吃上午饭。
深中通道开通后的第一周,来自深圳、香港等珠江口东岸城市的大批市民乘坐深中跨市公交到中山旅游。“深中跨市公交专线”小程序显示,6日与7日深圳赴中山的所有班次车票均已售罄。截至6日16时,深圳当天已经加派10余辆应急巴士,以满足深圳侧游客赴中山的旺盛需求。
中山詹园、大尖山露营公园人流量大。其中,大尖山露营公园人流相比平时翻了一倍,15%的游客来自深圳,10%来自澳门。为了更好地迎接客流,当地组织策划了多项文旅活动促消费,例如举办流行音乐周、文旅美食嘉年华等。
“目前看来,导致车流量大的原因,还是以暑假出游或者返乡,以及首个周末深中通道本身的热度观光为主。随着人们熟悉和适应深中通道通行线路,预计车流会逐渐回归正常水平。”深中通道管理中心相关负责人说。
深中通道管理中心相关负责人介绍,根据首周统计数据,在工作日期间,深中通道日高峰时段为每天的10时至12时和15时至17时,高峰小时车流有0.7万车次,建议广大市民错峰出行。
