President of the Federated States of Micronesia Wesley W. Simina is on his first state visit to China from April 5 to 12.

Since the establishment of diplomatic ties between China and Micronesia 35 years ago, bilateral relations have made substantial progress with fruitful practical cooperation in various fields. Based on the friendship between the two countries, Guangdong has been maintaining close contacts and friendly cooperation with Micronesia.

President Simina chose Guangdong as his first stop of the trip. On April 6, he visited the Dong Guan Luenthai Supply Chain City, a subsidiary of Luen Thai Group. It is said that the group has developed its business in Micronesia since the 1970s. To this day, it is involved in a wide range of businesses including petroleum, healthcare, wholesale and distribution of consumer goods, etc. During the visit, President Simina expressed his willingness to further strengthen cooperation with Guangdong enterprises in the fields of fishery and infrastructure.

In the exhibition hall, there’s a special wooden boat that the Federated States of Micronesia once exhibited in the United Pacific Pavilion at the World Expo 2010 in Shanghai. After the expo, the former Micronesia President gave the exhibit to Luen Thai Group for collection. On this trip, President Simina took a group photo in front of the wooden boat with the vice chairman of the group.

After finishing his trip to Dongguan, President Simina visited Shenzhen. He came to Hytera Communications Corporation Limited to try the two-way radio here. Hytera, a global provider of professional communications technologies and solutions, has 8 R&D centers and more than 90 branches around the grobe.

The Deputy General Manager of Overseas Sales of Hytera expected to reach cooperation with Micronesia in the field of communication. "Mr. President is very interested in our third-generation of command and dispatch solution, including the integrated command & control center solutions. They said that the technology would be practical for them, and that they may need such solutions in the future."

Afterwards, President Simina and his delegation visited Nanshan Energy Ecological Park. The park processes 2,300 tons of household waste per day, and its exterior design incorporates the form of industrial art. In the 72-metre-high circular sky bar, President Simina learned more about the waste incineration technology.

密克罗尼西亚总统访粤

今年是中密两国建交35周年。4月5日至12日，密克罗尼西亚联邦总统韦斯利·西米纳对中国进行国事访问。

在中密友好的大框架下，广东与密方一直保持密切往来和友好合作。2011年，广东省与密丘克州建立友好省州关系；2023年以来，广东积极推进密克罗尼西亚联邦国家会议中心项目复工建设，这也是中密两国践行“一带一路”倡议的代表工程。

此次到中国访问，西米纳总统第一站就来到了广东。6日，西米纳总统走进位于东莞市凤岗镇的联泰供应链城参观，挖掘相关领域合作新机遇。

据联泰集团有关负责人介绍，集团自上世纪70年代进入密克罗尼西亚地区市场，至今控股业务已涵盖保险、航运、消费品批发和分销、医疗保健等领域。参访过程中，西米纳总统表达了在海洋渔业、基础设施等领域与广东企业进一步加强合作的意愿。

展示厅中，还有一艘特别的木船。2010年上海世博会，密克罗尼西亚联邦携此船于太平洋联合馆参展。世博会闭幕后，密方将展品赠与联泰集团收藏。此行西米纳总统与企业有关负责人在木船前合影留念，共同见证密方与企业的多年情谊。

结束东莞的行程后，西米纳总统访问深圳。在深圳海能达通信股份有限公司，他试用了该企业的对讲机产品，并为之点赞。据悉，海能达作为专用通信及解决方案提供商，在中国、德国、西班牙和加拿大有8个研发中心，在全球设有超过90家分支机构。

海能达相关负责人表示，期望与密方在专用通信领域达成合作。“今天总统先生对于我们智能融合的专网，还是非常感兴趣的，包括我们指调系统的控制中心的方案，他们表示对他们来说比较实用，以及未来他们可能也会需要这样的解决方案。”

随后，西米纳总统一行到访南山能源生态园。据了解，南山能源生态园日处理生活垃圾2300吨，外观设计则融合了“工业艺术+”的形式。在烟囱上72米高的环形天空吧里，西米纳总统在感受生态美学的同时进一步了解垃圾焚烧发电技术，推动密方与有关企业的友好交流与务实合作。

密克罗尼西亚联邦位于中部太平洋地区，由607个大小岛屿组成。截至2022年6月，人口10.48万。农业、渔业、旅游业是其经济的“三大支柱”。
