On March 16th, the inaugural performance of the real-scene show "1911 Revolution: the Choice in Guangzhou" took place at the Memorial Hall of the March 29th Uprising Headquarters. Based on historical documents of the Guangzhou Uprising in 1911, the performance recreated the spirit of the heroes in the former headquarters.

The play revolves around the intense debates among revolutioners Huang Xing, Yu Peilan, and others on whether to launch an armed uprising in Guangzhou. Challenged by a scarcity of weapons, increased vigilance from the troops of the Qing Dynasty, and insufficient rebel forces, they had to make the difficult choice of whether to proceed with the planned uprising or temporarily suspend it.

Instead of adopting traditional forms of stage plays, the director ingeniously utilized the actors' transitions to fully showcase the architectural characteristics of the former headquarters, a typical Lingnan-style residence. The actors' immersive performances brought new vitality to the historical site and revived the spirits of the revolutionary martyrs.

The play features characters such as Huang Xing, Yu Peilan, Lin Shishuang, Hong Chengdian, and Yao Yuping. They are by staff and volunteers from the Guangzhou Museum, as well as students from the Guangzhou Sport University and the Jinan University.

According to the staff from the Guangzhou Museum, as the "Cross-Straits Exchange Base," the Memorial Hall of the March 29th Uprising Headquarters has been committed to enhancing cross-strait communication and cooperation. In this performance, they specially invited a student from Taiwan province, now studying at Jinan University to play the role of Yao Yuping, aiming to enhance the sense of national belonging and ethnic identity of the youth from Taiwan province, while promoting communication and interaction between Guangzhou city and Taiwan province.

Immersive performances held at historical sites have become a popular form of popularization and education in recent years, which not only carries the weight of history but also demonstrates the progress of the times and the changing aesthetics of the audience. It is also learned that the Memorial Hall of the March 29th Uprising Headquarters will continue to refine the script of "1911 Revolution: the Choice in Guangzhou," enrich its content, and strive to make it a brand event for cross-strait exchange. After the premiere, additional performances will be scheduled irregularly, allowing the audience to witness that difficult choice made over a hundred years ago in person.

沉浸式实景演出《辛亥1911·羊城抉择》首演

3月16日，沉浸式实景演出《辛亥1911·羊城抉择》的首场展演在“三·二九”起义指挥部旧址纪念馆内进行。演出根据“三·二九”广州起义的历史文献，依托指挥部旧址的建筑而打造，再现英雄浩气。

该剧以辛亥广州“三·二九”起义前夕，黄兴、喻培伦等人对是否要发动武装起义的激烈讨论为切入点，讲述了黄兴等人进入广州城，在缺乏武器、清军突然加强戒备以及起义队员不足等情况下，就是否按原计划发动起义，还是选择暂时放弃进行抉择的故事。

与传统舞台剧演出有所不同，导演在本次演出场景选择中，巧妙借助演员转场的方式，充分展现了“三·二九”起义指挥部旧址作为岭南典型民居的建筑特点。演员的实景演出也让旧址重新焕发生机，让革命先烈的英魂在演绎中得以复苏。

剧中设置了黄兴、喻培伦、林时爽、洪承点、姚雨平等角色，其扮演者是来自广州博物馆的馆员、志愿者，以及广州体育学院播音与主持系、暨南大学应用物理专业的学生。

广州博物馆相关负责人介绍，“三·二九”起义指挥部纪念馆作为“海峡两岸交流基地”，一直致力于加强海峡两岸的交流与合作，此次演出特别邀请了暨南大学在穗中国台湾籍青年学生扮演姚雨平，以此增强台籍青年的国家归属感和民族认同感，同时也增进了穗台之间的交流与互动。

依托原址进行沉浸式演出是近年来兴起的一种宣传教育形式，这种形式不仅承载着历史的厚重，更展现出时代的进步与观众审美的转变。相关负责人表示，“三·二九”起义指挥部旧址纪念馆将继续打磨《辛亥1911·羊城抉择》的剧本，丰富演出内容，力求将其打造成海峡两岸交流基地的品牌活动。在首演结束后，该馆将不定时推出加场演出，欢迎观众亲临现场，感受一百多年前那场艰难的抉择。
