Shenzhen Dapeng New District: a magnet for Gen Y witnessing over 200% surge in overseas tourists

In Shenzhen's Dapeng New District, financially capable and experience-seeking Generation Y and Z individuals have emerged as the primary force behind the surging tourism trends. Recently, a tourism report released by the Dapeng New District revealed that the region, adorned with picturesque mountains and seas, has become the favorite destination for them.

Dapeng's appeal lies in its captivating landscapes, diverse cultural and tourism activities, rich intangible cultural heritage, and well-thought-out supporting services. During the Chinese New Year holiday, 827,400 tourists were receivedin the region, marking a remarkable year-on-year growth of 125.27%, an increase of 269.17% in the same holiday of 2019 on a comparable basis. The tourism revenue reached 534 million yuan, indicating a 149.07% year-on-year increase. Notably, the number of overseas tourists during the holiday set a historical record, surging by 254.76% compared to the previous year. The overall satisfaction rate for tourist services in the district reached 90.32%.

The region's allure is evident in stories like Ms. Lu from Hangzhou, who initially planned for a two-night staysince the first day of the first lunar month, chose to stay three more nights here, due to the fun-filled exploration of visiting Dapeng Fortress, participating in traditional temple fairs, visiting Nan'ao to see the B.Duck andenjoying the grass dragon dance performance. "We heard that the world's largest Green Lion King would also be in the Dapeng Fortress on the fifth day of the Chinese New Year, so we decided to extend our stay."

The survey indicated tourists flocked to Dapeng for the beautiful mountain and sea scenery (64.37%), traditional Chinese New Year cultural activities (62.38%), popular attractions such as Dapeng Fortress and Yangmeikeng (56.09%), local cuisine (35.73%), trendy spots to take photos (27.45%), and activities such as the B.Duck, hot air balloons, and camping (23.45%).

During the holiday, social media platforms buzzed with the adorable B.Duck at Nan'ao Moon Bay, the vibrant "Pengpeng Dragon" at the southern gate tower of Dapeng Fortress, and the world's largest Green Lion King at 4.2 meters tall and 4.3 meters wide, shared by enthusiastic tourists.

Dapeng's tourist demographics primarilyconsistof Generation Y and Z. The survey indicated that visitors aged 18 to 40 accounted for 49.8%, while those above 40 constituted 40%, making them the primary consumer group for family travel and leisure travel.Pervasive social media makes the naturally scenery Dapeng New District emerge as a living embodiment of a charismatic urban area. On par with Dapeng,Nan'ao in Shantou City was recognized as a "paradise for photography in Guangdong" in2023.

Thanks to the penchant of the younger generation for novel experiences, the surge in the popularity of camping aligns perfectly with Dapeng's conditions for development. Over the past two years, there have been nearly 10 camping sites in Dapeng Sub-district, hosting approximately 220,000 visitors annually.

As Dapeng New District is the birthplace of homestays in Guangdong, Jiaochangwei Village in the district boasts the highest density of homestays compared to other towns. Booking a homestay and exploring Dapeng has become a common choice for tourists.

深圳大鹏新区:春节境外游客增长逾200%,成“85”后打卡最爱

爱分享、注重体验感、消费能力强的“85后”“90后”“00后”成为深圳大鹏新区旅游的主要客流。日前,深圳市大鹏新区发布的游客调查分析报告显示,坐拥山海美景的大鹏新区已成为“85后”打卡最爱。

优美的山海风光、丰富的文旅活动、精彩的非遗文化、周到的配套服务,吸引不少游客的到来。据统计,春节假期,新区共接待游客82.74万人次,同比增长125.27%,按可比口径恢复至2019年春节同期的269.17%;实现旅游收入5.34亿元,同比增长149.07%。春节来大鹏旅游的游客中,境外游客创下历史新高,同比大幅增长254.76%。同时,游客对新区旅游服务整体满意率达90.32%。

来自杭州的卢小姐大年初一入住葵涌玫瑰海岸民宿,原本只打算住两晚,结果第一天去了大鹏所城逛古城、玩游戏、参加民俗庙会,第二天又到南澳打卡小黄鸭、观看舞草龙,“太好玩了,听说大年初五世界最大青狮王也会亮相所城,我们一下子就多住了三晚。”

问卷显示,游客来大鹏的主要目的依次为感受山海美景(64.37%),参与春节传统文化活动(62.38%),打卡大鹏所城、杨梅坑等知名景点(56.09%),寻味当地美食(35.73%),打卡网红拍照地(27.45%),体验小黄鸭、热气球、露营等时尚项目(23.45%)。

春节前后,亮相南澳月亮湾的超萌B.Duck小黄鸭、爬上大鹏所城南门城楼的七彩“鹏鹏龙”,还有高4.2米、宽4.3米的世界最大青狮王……纷纷在社交平台“霸屏”,被游客们刷爆自己的朋友圈。

“85后”“90后”“00后”成为大鹏旅游的主要客流。问卷显示,18至40岁的青年游客占比49.8%;40岁以上的也占四成,他们是家庭游和休闲游的主要消费群体。在自媒体盛行的时代,随手一拍就是大片的大鹏新区本身就是一座自带网红气质的城区。2023年,南澳入选了“广东摄影目的地”。

年轻人喜欢新鲜事物,近年来悄然兴起的“露营热”,大鹏更有优越的先天发展条件。近两年来,仅大鹏办事处辖区便有近10家露营地,年接待游客量约22万人次。

此外,大鹏新区是广东省民宿发源地,较场尾民宿小镇更是全省民宿最密集的片区。到大鹏住下来慢慢玩,成为很多游客的共同选择。
