On the evening of February 21^st, the 2024 Lantern Show of the Lantern Festival will start at Guangzhou Culture Park. With the theme of "Vibrant Great Bay Area, Colorful Guangzhou," the show will be on from February 21^st to 24^th.

As the grand finale of the Chinese New Year Flower Market, this lantern show incorporates the lanterns with seasonal flower arrangements, creating a splendid combination of flowers and lanterns.

Highlight 1: innovations of the lanterns in the Year of the Dragon

This Lantern Festival integrates the element of Dragon in the show by using landscaping techniques to create an artistic conception of the soaring dragon in vibrant Guangzhou. There are 40 sets of lanterns in total, marking the highest quantity and scale in recent years.

At the main gate archway, the 12-meter-long "Gate of Dragon," features a delightful dragon horn design symbolizing the joy of success. It also incorporates elements like dragon horns, lion dance, and firecrackers.

Two 15-meter-long majestic dragon lanterns, with claws waving amidst a sea of flowers, add grandeur to the spectacle.

The lantern set at the central square integrates elements including kapok flowers, palace lanterns, dragons, and phoenixes, creating a lantern display with the richest festive atmosphere.

In addition to lanterns related to the New Year of the Dragon, the show also features themes such as traditional Chinese New Year customs and Chinese chess culture, presenting various lantern sets showcasing the cultural charm of Guangzhou.

Highlight 2: lanterns with romantic poetry

As Guangzhou is a city steeped in poetic history, the show naturally incorporates poetry as a significant element in lantern decorations. A highlight is the arrangement of poetry lanterns in locations including the southwest square,Wenmingyuan, and Xiguanyuan, combining classical and romantic elements.

Strings of poems hang in the air, adorning the branches of trees, with interwoven light and shadow, allowing visitors to appreciate the beauty of human life through lanterns. When visitors gaze up, it feels as if they are engaging in a dialogue with ancient poets, creating an overall atmosphere of poetic beauty, embodying the humanistic vibe of Guangzhou City.

Highlight 3: creative sound and light effects

The show extensively employs environmentally friendly materials and incorporates sound, light and movement technology seamlessly into the park's landscapes, creating an effect of trees and lakes magnificently illuminated with brilliant lights.

Different lantern sets offer dynamic experiences, from flowers blooming to dragons and butterflies in motion. Accompanied by classic Cantonese opera music, a lantern set featuring characterslikemale and female roles and clowns from Cantonese opera highlights the beautiful melodious and lingering charm of this traditional art form.

During the lantern show, visitors can enjoy themselves in various activities, including a lantern riddle party, Cantonese storytelling, chess performances, and a Chinese New Year calligraphy and painting exhibition.

广州文化公园2024年元宵灯会2月21日亮灯

2月21日晚，广州文化公园2024年“元宵灯会”正式亮灯。本次“元宵灯会”以“活力湾区，新彩广州”为主题，亮灯时间为2月21日（正月十二）至2月24日（元宵节）晚。

作为迎春花会的压轴重头戏，本次“元宵灯会”的主题花灯融入时花造景，春花灯彩共生辉。

亮点1：“龙”年花灯创新高

本届“元宵灯会”巧妙融入“龙”的生肖元素，运用园林布置手法营造出“龙腾盛世，活力广州”的意境。灯组多达40组，数量和规模为近年之最。

其中，正门牌楼“春满人间龙献瑞”灯组融入龙角、舞狮、鞭炮等元素。“龙门”跨度12米，采用龙角造型，显得萌趣生动，寓意喜登龙门，金榜题名。

灯组“双龙献瑞”气势恢宏，双龙各长15米，在花海和祥云中挥舞着龙爪，腾空而起，威武霸气。

中心广场“龙凤呈祥”则采用红棉、宫灯、龙凤等造型，花灯融合，打造出灯会年味最浓的一个景组。

除了生肖龙年，灯会还采用过年习俗、象棋文化等题材，打造出“金狮闹春”“吉祥如意”“棋城传奇”“AI对弈”等多组展现“多彩广州”文化魅力的灯组。

亮点2：诗词花灯显浪漫

广州作为“诗词之都”，诗词自然也成为灯会布置的重要元素。文化公园2024年“元宵灯会”的一个亮点是在西南广场、文明苑、西关苑等场地布置诗词灯，体现出古典和浪漫的结合。

一串串诗句临空而下，点缀在树梢枝头，光影交织，览尽人间灯火；游人仰首品诗时，仿佛穿越时空与古人对话，整体洋溢着诗情画意，呈现“人间烟火情，诗意广州城”的人文氛围。

亮点3：声光动感展创意

今年灯会广泛使用节能环保材料，并且使用了“声”“光”“动”技术，将灯组无缝融入公园的水景、树景中，营造出火树银花、光影璀璨的效果。

其中，“春满人间龙献瑞”灯组的花朵将呈现从含苞待放到争相怒放的动态；大宫灯“龙凤呈祥”将以走马形式呈现广州美景，其中龙灯的“龙头”转动；“双龙献瑞”灯组龙爪挥动，“吉祥如意”灯组中彩蝶双翅徐徐扇动；“粤音萦绕”灯组在花丛中展示“旦”“生”“丑”等粤剧角色，同时灯组还配以播放经典粤剧音乐，寓意“南国红豆”粤韵悠扬，余音袅袅。

文化公园2024年“元宵灯会”举办期间，文化公园还举办灯谜会、粤语讲古、象棋表演、新春书画展等丰富活动。
