侨胞们、乡亲们、朋友们：

此时此刻，万家团圆、喜迎新春。我代表广东省人民政府和全省人民，向广大海外侨胞、港澳台同胞和世界各国朋友，致以诚挚的新春问候和美好的节日祝福！

2023年是全面贯彻党的二十大精神的开局之年，也是广东改革发展具有里程碑意义的一年。习近平总书记党的十八大以来第5次亲临广东，赋予广东在推进中国式现代化建设中走在前列的使命任务，赋予粤港澳大湾区新发展格局的战略支点、高质量发展的示范地、中国式现代化的引领地的全新定位，极大振奋了全省上下奋进新征程的信心决心。一年来，我们牢记总书记殷殷嘱托，以“再造一个新广东”的闯劲拼劲再出发，奋力推动现代化建设展现新气象。

这是人气持续畅旺、往来交流更加便捷的一年。疫情防控平稳转段，广东经济加速恢复发展，在粤实有人口突破1.5亿，放眼南粤大地，交通车水马龙、景区人头攒动、商圈消费红火，处处跃动着生机与活力。乡亲们更加便利地穿梭在祖国和海外之间，深切感受与亲朋好友相聚的喜悦，亲身见证家乡的发展变化，在侨商大会、华侨华人粤港澳大湾区大会、世界客商大会等一系列精彩纷呈的重大活动中，处处活跃着广大华人华侨的身影。

这是推动高质量发展百舸争流、活力迸发的一年。省委、省政府召开“新春第一会”全省高质量发展大会，释放出岭南春早的鲜明信号。广东地区生产总值连续35年居全国首位，成为首个突破13万亿元的省份。头号工程“百县千镇万村高质量发展工程”强县促镇带村如火如荼，县镇村高质量发展其势已成、其兴可期。广东区域创新能力实现国内7连冠，“制造业当家”底气十足，一处处产业园区串珠成链、一项项重大项目蓄势待发，广东生产的新手机一机难求，全国每4辆新能源汽车就有1辆是我们“广东造”。

这是全面深化改革开放坚定向前、步履铿锵的一年。横琴前海南沙河套四大合作平台各具特色，为粤港澳合作、大湾区建设注入“加速度”。随着“澳车北上”、“港车北上”、“经珠港飞”实施，港珠澳大桥车流量屡创新高，大湾区呈现加速融合发展新景象，越来越多的人选择大湾区、扎根大湾区、深耕大湾区。广交会、全球招商大会万商云集、成果丰硕，我省连续4年获评营商环境最佳口碑省份，全省各类经营主体突破1800万户。广东开放的大门在拥抱世界的过程中越开越大。

这是倾情倾力惠民、父老乡亲生活步步高的一年。时速350公里的广汕汕高铁实现广州到汕头1.5小时通达，粤东地区加速融入大湾区“一小时交通圈”，飞机、高铁、高速公路、水运串起南粤各地、联通世界。养老院、长者饭堂、普惠托育服务、公办幼儿园等托起了“一老一小”，“信用就医”让看病越来越方便，广州市文化馆、深圳美术馆等文化地标陆续点亮，潮汕“英歌舞”、湾区“龙舟赛”火爆出圈，漫步南粤大地，处处绿意盎然、人与自然和谐共生。

今年是新中国成立75周年。我们将全面贯彻落实党的二十大精神和习近平总书记视察广东重要讲话、重要指示精神，按照省委“1310”具体部署，奋力在推进中国式现代化建设中走在前列。我们将进一步厚植“侨”优势，做好“侨”文章，以侨为桥扩大高水平对外开放。诚挚欢迎大家多回来走一走、看一看，共享发展机遇，共建美丽家园，共创美好未来!

Dear compatriots at home and abroad and friends from all over the world, on this wonderful occasion of festival celebrations and family reunion, I, on behalf of the People's Government of Guangdong Province and all residents across the province, would like to extend our sincerest Chinese New Year greetings and best wishes to all overseas Chinese, compatriots from Hong Kong SAR, Macao SAR, Taiwan regionand friends from all around the world. 

The year 2023 was the first year to fully implement the guiding principles of the 20^th CPC National Congress,and a year of milestone significance for the reform and development of Guangdong.In this year, General Secretary of the CPC Xi Jinping conducted an inspection trip to Guangdong the fifth time after the 18^th CPC National Congress,set a new target for the province to be a trailblazer on the Chinese path to modernization,and a new orientation for the Guangdong-Hong Kong-Macao Greater Bay Area to be developed as a strategic fulcrum of the country’s new development pattern,a demonstration zone of high-quality development,and a pioneer of Chinese modernization.His remarks greatly boost the confidence and resolution of the whole province to embark on a new journey.Over the past year, we have kept General Secretary Xi’s requirements in mind,and marched to the next stage with courage and energy to“reinvigorate a new Guangdong”,pushing ahead modernization construction vigorously to take on a new look.

It was a year when Guangdong gained continuous popularity home and abroad with more convenient exchanges in all aspects.We achieved a smooth transition in our COVID-19 response efforts.We witnessed an accelerated economic revival.The actual population in Guangdong has exceeded 150 million.Across the province,we can see streets are bustling with life,scenic spots are thronged with tourists and business rebounds as the consumption grows,all brimming with vigor and vitality.Overseas Chinese have been traveling more conveniently to homeland,immersing themselves into the joy of reunion with relatives and friends,and witnessing the great changes taken place in their hometowns.They have been found active in a range of fruitful major events such as China Overseas Chinese Investment (Guangdong) Conference,Overseas Chinese Guangdong-Hong Kong-Macao Greater Bay Area Conference,the Sixth World Hakka Entrepreneurs Convention, etc.

It was a year when high-quality development was driven by strong momentum and extraordinary vibrancy. CPC Guangdong Provincial Committee and People’s Government of Guangdong Province jointly held the High-quality Development Conference in the beginning of the 2023 Chinese New Year, sending a distinct signal to getting down to hard work. Guangdong secured its top spot in total economic output value for the 35^th consecutive year in China, resulting from its being the first province in the country with GDP exceeding a record 13 trillion yuan.The High-quality Development Project for Counties, Towns and Villages, the province’s No.1 project, has brought robust development in boosting rural economy. Rural revitalization through high-quality development is looking into a promising future.Guangdong has held its top spot in regional innovation capability in China for 7 years in a row.Guangdong continued to focus on manufacturing with full confidence. Industrial parks have been built and major projects are gathering momentum to boom.The new mobile phones made in Guangdong have become the most sought-aftertargets in the market.In China, one out of every four new energy vehicles is a product of Guangdong.

It was a year for further deepening reform and opening-up in an all-round way with resolve and solid efforts.The four cooperative platforms of Hengqin, Qianhai,Nansha and Shenzhen-Hong Kong Loop with distinct features have accelerated the cooperation between Guangdong, Hong Kong and Macao,and sped up the construction of the Greater Bay Area.Thanks to the implementation of the northbound travel program for Macao and Hong Kong vehicles and the "Fly from Hong Kong via Zhuhai" policy, the traffic volume of Hong Kong-Zhuhai-Macao Bridge hit record highs.The Greater Bay Area has taken on a new look for accelerated integration and development.More and more people turn their eyes to the Greater Bay Area,settle down here and contribute their efforts.Canton Fair and the Global Investment Promotion Conference for the Guangdong-Hong Kong-Macao Greater Bay Area were swarmed with business representatives and achieved fruitful results.For four consecutive years,Guangdong Province ranked first in China in business environment with the number of business entities of varied types exceeding 18 million.Guangdong is opening its doors wider while embracing the world.

It was a year when the authorities spared no efforts to enhance people’s well-being and the life quality of the residents province-wide was significantly improved.The 350-km/h Guangzhou-Shanwei-Shantou High-speed Railway shortens the commute time between Guangzhou and Shantou to 1.5 hours,expediting eastern Guangdong’s merging into the“GBA one-hour traffic circle”.Airplanes, high-speed trains, expressways and water transport link up cities across Guangdong and connect them with the rest of the world. Elderly nursing homes, canteens for seniors,affordable nursery care services and public kindergartens ramp up support for elderly care and childcare.Medical services on credit make it easier for patients to see a doctor.Guangzhou Culture and Arts Center, Shenzhen Art Museum and other cultural landmarks opened to the public one after another.Chaoshan Yingge Dance and the GBA Dragon Boat Race became a hit.Taking a stroll across Guangdong,people will find the place is green and lush,where human and nature coexist in harmony.

This year 2024 marks the 75^th anniversary of the founding of the People’s Republic of China.We will fully implement the spirit of the 20^th CPC National Congress and the guidelines of the keynote speech and instructions given by General Secretary Xi Jinping during his visit to Guangdong.According to the “1310” strategic plan of the CPC Guangdong Provincial Committee,the province will strive to march at the forefront in the path to modernization with Chinese characteristics.We’ll further strengthen our advantage in overseas Chinese affairs,continue to enhance ties with overseas compatriots,encourage them to serve as a bridge for exchanges between China and the world,so as to boost high-standard opening-up.Hereby,I sincerely welcome compatriots and friends to pay a visit to Guangdong,to share development opportunities,to build our beautiful homeland together,and to work with joint efforts to create a better future.
