As the New Year's Eve holiday approaches, a surge in interest in themed New Year's trips is evident among numerous travelers.

According to data from Mafengwo, the popularity of "New Year's travel destinations" has spiked by 266% in the past week, with the ice city of Harbin being hailed as the top domestic travel destination for winter enthusiasts.

Guangzhou secures top three spot in the list of ten hottest cities for New Year's Eve celebrations

In the latest rankings, the top ten cities for New Year's festivities include Shanghai, Beijing, Guangzhou, Chengdu, Harbin, Chongqing, Hong Kong, Xi'an, Sanya, and Macao.

Guangzhou secures a spot in the top three most popular New Year's cities, with the Pearl River night cruise becoming a favored choice for countdown celebrations aboard cruise ships.

The 25th edition of the Harbin Ice and Snow World, set to become the largest ice and snow theme park, has recently garnered widespread attention. Covering an area of 810,000 square meters, larger than the Forbidden City, it is expected to be the world's biggest winter wonderland.

On the opening day, the popularity of the theme park on the travel platform Mafengwo soared by 300%, with over 40,000 reservations made within three hours. Harbin has become the preferred New Year's travel destination for many.

Apart from Harbin, Hong Kong Disneyland witnessed a 128% increase in popularity over the past week, while Shanghai Disneyland experienced a remarkable 150% surge.

Ritualistic spectacles such as the Northern Lights, sunrise at Meili Snow Mountains, and sea sunrise have become the top choices for New Year's travel.

Notably, the domestic best spot for observing the Northern Lights, Mohe Arctic Town, saw a 125% increase in popularity in the past week. Meanwhile, Dongfushan Island in Zhejiang, known for being the easternmost point in China to witness the first sunrise of the New Year, also saw a 66% rise in interest.

The 90s and 00s age groups prefer overseas New Year's celebrations

In the wake of the resumption of outbound tourism, many young Chinese are eagerly embracing the opportunity to celebrate the New Year abroad. According to data from Mafengwo, 47.8% of the overseas New Year travelers are from the post-90s and post-00s generations, reflecting a significant trend among the youth.

Malaysia has become the preferred destination for celebrating New Year's Eve abroad, offering pleasant weather, diverse activities, and the added convenience of recent visa-free access. Among the popular attractions, the sunset cruise in Langkawi, diving adventure in Sipadan Island, and wetland expedition in the Kawa Mangrove stand out as the most favored activities among young travelers.

Japan, offering a perfect overseas skiing experience, secured a spot in the top three popular countries, with a 112% increase in interest in "Hokkaido skiing" in the past week.

South Korea, also on the list, opened its major ski resorts in early December, attracting skiing enthusiasts. Renowned venues like the Alpensia Resort and the Yongpyong Ski Resort, former main arenas for the PyeongChang Winter Olympics, are drawing avid skiers with their professional facilities and excellent snow conditions.

As South Korea prepares for its winter festival from January 6th to 28th, ice fishing and bare-hand fishing emerge as the two most anticipated local experiences for visitors.

马蜂窝大数据显示，近一周，“跨年目的地”相关热度涨幅高达266%，其中冰城哈尔滨被“寒冬党”推举为今冬国内旅行目的地“顶流”。

广州登榜十大跨年热门城市前三

最新统计显示，上海、北京、广州、成都、哈尔滨、重庆、中国香港、西安、三亚、中国澳门位列跨年热门城市前十。

广州位列热门跨年目的地第三，在广州的珠江夜游船上跨年倒数成为不少游客热衷的选择。

第25届哈尔滨冰雪大世界规模创历史之最的消息近日引起广泛关注。这个占地81万平方米的冰雪大世界，比故宫的面积还大，预计将成为全球最大的冰雪主题公园。

据媒体报道，本月18日冰雪大世界正式开园当天，不到3小时，预约游玩人数已达4万。开园当天，马蜂窝平台上哈尔滨旅游热度环比暴涨300%，哈尔滨成为不少游客跨年旅行目的地的首选。

除哈尔滨外，香港迪士尼近一周热度环比上涨128%，上海迪士尼热度高涨150%。

极具仪式感的极光、日照金山、海上日出等景象成为跨年旅行追逐的首选。

据悉，国内最佳极光观赏地漠河北极村近一周的热度环比上涨125%；位于中国最东边，能收获新年第一缕曙光的浙江舟山东福山岛热度亦上升66%。

90后、00后喜欢赴国外跨年

出境游恢复后的首次国外跨年，让众多年轻人跃跃欲试。在马蜂窝赴国外跨年客群中，90后、00后占比高达47.8%。

温暖宜人、玩法丰富且在近期喜提免签的马来西亚成为国外跨年的首选，其中，兰卡威日落巡航、仙本那跳岛潜水、Kawa红树林湿地探险，是近期当地最受年轻游客欢迎的玩法。

拥有完美境外滑雪体验的日本，则在滑雪爱好者的推崇下进入热门国家前三。据悉，“北海道滑雪”近一周热度环比上涨112%。

同样进入跨年旅行热门国家榜单的韩国，其各大滑雪场已于12月初全面对外开放。作为曾经的平昌冬奥会主要竞技场的Alpensia度假村和龙平滑雪度假村，因专业的滑雪设施和绝佳的雪质，吸引了不少滑雪爱好者。

韩国将在2024年1月6日至28日开启冬季庆典，砸冰钓鱼和赤手抓鱼，成为游客最向往的当地两大体验活动。
