The 6^th World Hakka Businessmen Convention will kick off in Meizhou from November 2^nd to 4^th. Hakka merchants and guests from over 100 countries and regions around the world will gather in the "Capital of Hakka in the World" for development. The conference will also set up five overseas branch venues in France, Canada, Argentina, Mauritius, and Australia. After a gap of six years, Meizhou welcomes this grand event as an important opportunity for its revitalization and development.

The World Hakka Businessmen Convention is an event to strengthen the connection, communication, and cooperation between domestic and overseas Hakka merchants and chambers of commerce, thus enhancing economic and cultural exchanges and promoting mutual prosperity in culture and commerce. It was jointly initiated in 2009 by the Meizhou Committee of the Communist Party of China, the Meizhou Government, 74 of the world's most well-known Hakka chambers of commerce, and 84 of the most influential Hakka merchants. It is held once every two years in Meizhou and has been successfully held for five sessions so far.

In September last year, the overall plan for supporting Meizhou to integrate into and accelerate the revitalization and development of the Guangdong-Hong Kong-Macao Greater Bay Area (referred to as the Meizhou Plan) was approved and implemented by the state, making Meizhou another national-level strategic platform in Guangdong.

Over the past year, Meizhou has made every effort to implement the Meizhou Plan. Meizhou has successfully established a national culture reserve and the world's first submerged liquid-cooled energy storage power station, witnessed the successful debut of the rail-sea intermodal train from Meizhou Comprehensive Bonded Zone to Guangzhou Nansha and the installation of the first traction substation transformer of the Guangdong Meilong High-speed Railway.

In the first half of this year, the total regional GDP of Meizhou City reached 63.802 billion yuan, a year-on-year growth of 5.3%, ranking 5th in the province and 1st among the five mountainous cities in Guangdong (Shaoguan, Heyuan, Meizhou, Qingyuan, Yunfu). From January to August, the added value of major industries increased by 6.8%, ranking 3rd in the province. The year-on-year growth rate of local general public budget revenue was 14.4%, ranking 2nd in the province.

On October 26th, the preparatory work symposium for the 6th World Hakka Businessmen Convention was held in Meizhou. Since the start of the preparation, Meizhou has achieved good results with high quality and efficiency. The conference has sent a positive signal to global Hakka merchants to invest in Meizhou, and through communication and exchange, it will promote cooperation among all parties and achieve high-quality development of Meizhou.

The shops in Jiangbei Old Street have hung up retro new signs, the "Guangdong Meizhou Pomelo" charter flights are flying between Meizhou and Beijing to transport domestic and foreign Hakka merchants, and the main venue of the World Hakka Entrepreneurs Center has been decorated anew. Currently, Meizhou is actively carrying out various work to prepare for the World Hakka Businessmen Convention. Meizhou will bring Hakka stories and Guangdong characteristics to the world, exploring broader channels for cooperation.

梅州：向全球客商招手，齐聚世界客都

第六届世界客商大会将于11月2日至4日在梅州举行，届时来自海内外100多个国家和地区的客商和嘉宾将齐聚世界客都，共谋发展。大会还将设立法国、加拿大、阿根廷、毛里求斯、澳大利亚5个海外分会场。时隔6年，再迎盛会，这是梅州振兴发展的一次重要机遇。

世界客商大会是加强海内外客商及商会之间联系、交流和合作，加强经济文化互动、人文商道共荣的盛会，于2009年由梅州市委、市政府联合74个全球最知名的客属团体商会和84名最具影响力的客商共同发起，每两年在梅州举办一次，至今已成功举办五届。

去年9月，《支持梅州对接融入粤港澳大湾区加快振兴发展总体方案》（以下简称《梅州方案》）获国家批复实施，让梅州成为广东又一国家级战略平台。成功创建国家级文化生态保护区、全球首个浸没式液冷储能电站投入运行、“梅州综保区—广州南沙”海铁联运班列成功试运行、梅龙铁路首台牵引变电所主变压器安装就位……一年来，梅州举全市之力落实《梅州方案》。

今年上半年，梅州全市地区生产总值638.02亿元，同比增长5.3%，增速居全省第5位、山区五市第1位；1-8月，规上工业增加值增长6.8%、增速居全省第3位，地方一般公共预算收入同比增长14.4%、增速居全省第2位。

10月26日，第六届世界客商大会筹备工作专题会议在梅州召开。筹备工作启动以来，梅州市前期筹备工作高质高效，取得较好成效。大会已向全球客商发出投资梅州的积极信号，通过沟通交流促进各方合作，将活动成效转化成推动梅州高质量发展的实效。

梅城江北老街店铺挂上复古新招牌、“广东梅州柚”号包机执飞梅州—北京航班接送海内外客商、主会场世界客商中心装点一新……眼下梅州正如火如荼地做着服务好世界客商大会的各项工作。一朝东风起，做好准备的梅州将带着充满客家特色、广东特色的故事走出围龙、走向世界，开拓更广阔的合作渠道和空间。
