On September 27, 2023, in a significant development, the joint venture project known as the Fuling Food Industrial Park, backed by Louis Dreyfus, Donlink, and Haid Group, held its grand opening ceremony in the Nansha district of Guangzhou.

This marks yet another major foreign investment project to kick off in Guangzhou, following recent initiatives such as the ZF Guangzhou Technical Center, Panasonic's fourth electronics factory, and the opening of the Autoliv Guangzhou Factory.

Between January and August this year, Guangzhou signed a total of 1,062 new projects, marking a remarkable 13.3% growth. Among these, 34 projects were valued at over a billion yuan each. Over 4,000 new foreign-invested enterprises were established during the same period, reflecting an impressive 84.2% year-on-year growth. A cumulative total of 345 Fortune Global 500 companies have invested in the city.

"Over the past three years, Louis Dreyfus's project development and business expansion in Guangzhou have far exceeded our expectations. We have full confidence in the Chinese economy, and our long-term commitment to the Chinese market remains unwavering," stated Margarita Louis-Dreyfus, Chairwoman of the Louis Dreyfus Group Board.

The Fuling Food Industrial Park project was initially proposed in 2020 when a cooperation memorandum was signed. The first phase of the project covers an area of 271 mu and includes a soybean crushing line with an annual processing capacity of 1.8 million tons, a soybean oil refining workshop with an annual processing capacity of 360,000 tons, and a packaging oil workshop with an annual output of 240,000 tons.

Louis Dreyfus has been a presence in the Chinese market for half a century. Chen Jiayuan, Chairman of Fuling Food Technology Co., Ltd., and Chief Executive Officer of Louis Dreyfus Group North Asia, shared plans to explore the development of high-tech modern agriculture in collaboration with Chinese partners. They aim to accelerate the implementation of technologies such as blockchain, the Internet of Things (IoT), and artificial intelligence (AI) in the management of the entire agricultural and food supply chain, ensuring efficient traceability from the farm to the dining table.

The Fuling Food Industrial Park will leverage the strategic location and convenient transportation infrastructure in Nansha, Guangzhou. It aims to enhance the balance of grain production and sales in the Greater Bay Area and surrounding regions while ensuring the supply security of high-quality protein products in South China. Furthermore, the project will expand downstream into the industrial chain, focusing on the development of plant-based food ingredients to meet consumer demand for healthy and nutritious products.

世界500强路易达孚为什么将这个重大投资项目放在广州？

9月27日，由路易达孚集团、东凌控股集团、海大集团三方合资投建的富凌食品科技产业园，在广州南沙举行开业仪式。

这是近期继采埃孚广州技术中心、松下电子第四工厂、奥托立夫广州新工厂等项目后，在广州开工开业的又一个重点外资项目。

今年1-8月，广州市新签约项目1062个、增长13.3%，其中注册的百亿级项目34个；新设外资企业超过4000家，同比增长84.2%，在穗投资的世界500强企业累计达345家。

“在过去三年的时间里，路易达孚在广州的项目建设和业务发展远超我们的期望。我们对中国经济充满信心，对中国市场的长期承诺不变。”路易达孚集团董事会主席玛格丽特·路易达孚表示。

据悉，富凌食品科技产业园项目于2020年签署合作备忘录立项，一期项目用地271亩，已建成年加工能力180万吨的大豆压榨线、年加工能力36万吨的豆油精炼车间、年产量24万吨的包装油车间。

路易达孚已经在中国市场发展了半个世纪，广州富凌食品科技有限公司董事长兼路易达孚集团北亚区首席执行官陈嘉渊表示，下一步将与在华合作伙伴一同积极探索高科技现代农业的发展，加速推进区块链、物联网、人工智能等技术在农产品和食品全贸易链管理上的运用，实现从农场到餐桌的高效全程可追溯。

据悉，富凌食品科技产业园将依托广州南沙的区位优势和便利交通，增强大湾区及周边地区粮食产销平衡和重要农产品供给安全，保障优质蛋白产品在华南地区的高效供应。同时也将向产业链下游拓展，聚焦于开发植物基食品配料，满足消费者对健康营养品的需求。
