Recently, Ms. Wang, a 48-year-old woman from Sichuan Province, successfully secured a position as a mahjong livestream host after going through a series of interviews. She is now earning 30,000 yuan per month in this role.

According to Ms. Wang, she had been working in clerical positions before. After seeing the job posting for a mahjong livestream host and finding that she met the recruitment criteria, mainly due to her possession of a mahjong skill certificate, she decided to apply for this position. Following the interview process, both the HR department and the employer were satisfied with her qualifications. She received a job offer just two days later.

Upon seeing this news, many netizens expressed astonishment at the monthly salary of 30,000 yuan, but also remained uncertain about the possibility of obtaining a certificate for playing mahjong. How can one obtain a mahjong skill certificate? And what are the benefits of having such a certificate?

On November 5th, 2022, the Mahjong International League and the Hangzhou Branch of China Chess Academy jointly established the Mahjong Rating Center, which is responsible for the mahjong skill rating and other related pilot work. Alongside this, they introduced the"Mahjong Skill Rating Management Measures". In essence, any ordinary mahjong enthusiast can register as a “mahjong athlete” and continuously advance their skill level through various competitions.

As explained, there are a total of 18 skill levels for mahjong athletes, divided into amateur and professional levels. Each level is associated with a corresponding title and certificate. To begin, individuals need to register as a “mahjong athlete” through the “Athletic Intelligence Assessment” WeChat Mini Program. After achieving an amateur level of 6, they become eligible to participate in the “Professional Ranking Tournament”. Upon advancement, they can qualify for the “China Mahjong Open”. Currently, the system offers level certification for Chinese Official Mahjong, Riichi Mahjong,and Sichuan Mahjong.

As is well-known, mahjong originated in China and has been passed down throughout its history. In the early 20th century, mahjong crossed oceans and developed in countries like England and the United States. Today, mahjong has become a cultural phenomenon.

In April 2017, the International Mind Sports Association announced that mahjong had become the sixth officially recognized mind sport, signifying its gradual standardization. According to incomplete statistics, there are over 40 different variations of mahjong games around the world, each having developed its own unique interactive and entertainment culture. Examples include American mahjong and the Japanese Mahjong Championship.

Li Wenlong, Secretary-General of the Mahjong International League, stated in a media interview that a series of domestic and international A-level and S-level tournaments, led by the first China Mahjong Open Championships, will provide a pathway of ascending honors for mahjong enthusiasts. “Engaging in mahjong tournaments as a form of intellectual competition” is set to become a legitimate profession.

48岁大姐当麻将主播月薪3万！打麻将也能当工作

近日，四川48岁王女士（化名）经层层面试成功应聘月挣3万的麻将主播。

据王女士介绍，此前一直做文职工作，看到麻将主播的招聘信息后，觉得自己符合招聘条件，主要是自己有麻将等级证书。经过面试后，HR和老板也对自己很满意，两天后便接到入职通知。

看到这则新闻，不少网友在感叹月薪3万之余，也有疑惑：打麻将也能考证书？怎样获得麻将等级证书？拿到证书后有什么用？

2022年11月5日，国际麻将联盟和中国棋院杭州分院共同成立了麻将运动技术等级评定中心，同时出台了《麻将运动技术技能等级评定管理办法》。简单来说，任何一位普通麻将爱好者都可以注册成为麻将项目运动员，并通过各种赛事不断考级升级。

据介绍，麻将运动员技术等级共18级，分为业余和职业两个层级，每个级别设置相应的等级称号以及等级证书形式体现。首先要在微信小程序“智力运动考级”中注册成为麻将运动员，然后根据引导在线上获得业余6段才有资格报名参加“专业段位定段赛”，晋级后便可获得”中国麻将公开赛”的参赛资格。目前系统开发了国标麻将、立直麻将、四川麻将的等级认证。

众所周知，麻将起源于中国，伴随着中国历史一路流传下来。20世纪初期，麻将漂洋过海，在英美等地发展。如今，麻将已成为一种文化现象。

2017年4月，国际智力运动联盟宣布，麻将正式成为第六个世界智力运动项目，意味着麻将正逐步合规化。据不完全统计，世界各地有40多种麻将游戏，每种都形成了特定的互动和娱乐文化。如美式麻将、日本麻将竞技锦标赛等。

国际麻将联盟秘书长李文龙在接受媒体采访时表示，以首届中国麻将公开赛为先导的一系列国内、国际A级和S级赛事，将为麻将爱好者提供“以参赛荣誉、冠军荣誉”的上升通道，“打麻将参加智力竞技”将成为一个正经的事业。
