Recently, the 2023 Fortune Global 500 list was released. Four state-owned enterprises under Guangzhou Government, including GAC Group, Guangzhou Municipal Construction Group, Guangzhou Industrial Investment Holdings Group (GIIHG), and Guangzhou Pharmaceutical Holdings Limited (GPHL), ranked 165th, 380th, 414th, and 426th respectively on the list. Among them, GAC Group rose 21 places, GPHL rose 41 places, and GIIHG made its debut on the list.

On August 4th, the Information Office of Guangzhou Municipal People's Government held the 2023 Fortune Global 500 Guangzhou Enterprise Interview Conference, where representatives from these four companies shared their experiences in achieving high-quality development.

Scientific research and development: "No Cost-cutting in R&D"

Why can these four state-owned Fortune Global 500 enterprises in Guangzhou achieve growth in both performance and profit? The relevant person in charge acknowledged that scientific research and development investment plays an important role in the high-quality development of enterprises.

"For example, in 2022, GAC Group filed 3,255 new patent applications and invested 6.5 billion yuan in scientific research and development. It means nearly 20 million yuan is invested in R&D every day with nearly ten patents achieved on average."

Yin Jie, the head of the brand public relations department and spokesperson of GAC Group, introduced that GAC has built an international R&D team led by high-end experts from home and abroad of more than 6,000 people. Its R&D covers three countries and five regions, including China, the United States, and Italy.

Guangzhou Pharmaceutical Holdings Limited (GPHL) also has good news. Huang Pei, the head of the public department and spokesperson of GPHL, introduced that thanks to the transformation and upgrading of the innovation chain driven by innovative resources, GPHL has more than 200 research projects, including biological medicine, chemical drugs, traditional Chinese medicine, high-end raw and auxiliary materials, foods for special medical purposes, etc., among which 18 are first-class new drugs under research.

Traditional industries are also accelerating their transformation. Liu Yugui, Deputy General Manager of Guangzhou Municipal Construction Group, introduced that in the past three years, Guangzhou Municipal Construction Group has established a digital construction research institute and developed more than 30 types of smart sensors and more than 20 sets of construction project information systems. These have been widely applied in over 3,000 projects.

International influence: Introducing 'Made in Guangdong' to the world

"Globalization of products is an important way to accelerate internationalization," said Huang Pei, who later introduced that over the years, the sales of herbal tea Wanglaoji under GPHL have covered more than 100 countries and regions around the world, and the export of traditional Chinese medicine pills Huatuo Zaizao Wan has spread to 29 countries and regions on six continents.

In July this year, GPHL also started strategic cooperation with traditional Chinese medicine suppliers in Russia and Indonesia. Over the next five years, it will import nearly 30,000 tons of traditional Chinese medicine materials from the two countries, deepening cooperation and exchanges with countries and regions along the Belt and Road Initiative.

Yin Jie introduced that the Middle East Branch of GAC Group has officially started operation and is actively promoting the construction of the CKD factory in Myanmar. GAC Group has also registered and established a subsidiary in Mexico, preparing to introduce GAC's independent brand products to the Mexican market.

Xie Yong, Deputy General Manager of Guangzhou Industrial Investment Holdings Group (GIIHG), said that GIIHG is constantly strengthening its overseas layout of the industrial chain, with research and development bases and production bases in more than 20 countries including Europe, America, and Southeast Asia, promoting international industrial cooperation and introducing "Made in Guangdong" and "Made in China" to the world.

为何能跻身世界500强？广州4家市属企业分享“财富经”

近日，2023年《财富》世界500强排行榜公布，广汽集团、广州建筑、广州工控、广药集团等四家广州市属国企分别位列榜单165名、380名、414名、426名。其中，广汽集团排名上升21位，广药集团排名上升41位，广州工控是首次上榜。

8月4日，广州举行2023年《财富》世界500强广州企业访谈会，上述企业代表现场分享了企业高质量发展经验。

科研力：“省什么都不能省研发”

广州4家世界500强国企为何能实现业绩、利润“双增长”？相关负责人纷纷表示，企业的高质量发展离不开科研投入和创新驱动。

“以2022年为例，广汽集团新增专利申请3255件，新增研发投入65亿元，算下来平均每天研发投入近2000万元，每天能产生将近10项专利。”

广汽集团品牌公关部部长、新闻发言人尹捷介绍，广汽已经构建起一支由海内外高端专家领军、规模6000多人的国际化研发团队，并且构筑了覆盖中国、美国、意大利三国五地的全球研发网。

广药集团同样带来了好消息。广药集团宣传部部长、新闻发言人黄佩介绍，得益于创新资源带动的创新链转型升级，广药集团在研项目已超200项，包括生物药、化学药、中药、高端原辅料、特医食品等，其中在研一类新药达18个。

传统行业也在加快转型步伐。广州建筑副总经理刘玉贵介绍，近三年来，广州建筑组建了数字建造研究院，开发出了30余种智能传感器和20余套建设工程信息化系统平台，在3000多项工程中得到了广泛应用。

国际力：推动“广东制造”走向世界

“产品国际化是加速国际化布局的重要途径。”黄佩介绍，多年来，广药集团旗下王老吉凉茶的销售已覆盖全球超百个国家和地区，华佗再造丸出口遍布全球六大洲29个国家和地区。

今年7月，广药集团还与俄罗斯、印度尼西亚中药材供应企业建立战略合作关系，未来五年将从两国进口中药材累计近3万吨，深化与“一带一路”沿线国家和地区的合作交流。

尹捷介绍，广汽国际中东分公司已经正式运营，正推进缅甸CKD工厂的建设，并注册成立了墨西哥子公司，准备将广汽自主品牌产品推向墨西哥市场。

广州工控副总经理谢勇表示，广州工控不断加强产业链海外布局，在欧美、东南亚等20余个国家设有研发基地和生产基地，推进国际产业协作，加快推动广东制造、中国制造走向世界。
